I think Josh is a very natural tv and radio presenter, much more so than Rob. He also comes across really well in interviews.
I genuinely would be incredibly surprised if anything bad ever crawled out of the woodwork about Josh. He seems just a really nice chap who's probably never been in trouble, or said anything really offensive. Rob I can imagine has done/said some things that could be mistrued. I may be wrong of course!

I agree. I imagine if Josh said anything even slightly offensive, he’d stress and worry about it!

Seems a genuinely nice bloke, despite his tiredness 😂

This is the second time we’ve heard Josh sit in for Rom and he was great last time too, a really good choice for this slot as he is a very capable interviewer! Rob would not be a good fit for that slot at all… not was he on his previous Radio 2 gig either. Any Sally Traffic fans out there need to see her duet with Rom singing Back for Good, it’s hilarious.

Rob was terrible on Radio 2! He is not cut out for radio at all. Agree Josh is good but not as good as Romesh. I love his show.

Something I've noticed as a dynamic between Rob and Josh is that Rob really enjoys and relishes having one over on Josh.

His instagram stories about Josh being late (which I get, would be annoying!), his constant jokes about Josh 'looking scruffy.

I'd find it quite hard to say to one of my good friends that my mum thinks they're scruffy?

And the thing is, I can't recall an instance of Josh ever doing it to Rob?

It reminded me of something I read at uni (I wrote a dissertation on class) about how working class people are often held to higher standards and so feel more under pressure to always be presentable, have impeccably clean homes etc. So, that could explain why Rob is doing it but my god I find it annoying to listen to. It always goes on about three minutes too long.

I agree and it definitely speaks volumes about Rob’s own insecurities meaning that he has to put others down whereas people who are confident in themselves and their own abilities (like Josh) don’t feel the need.

And just while I'm off on one about Rob (who I do think is probably quite a good guy) - we get it, people come and ask you for photos.

He mentioned it in the Suzi Ruffell episode again and...I've never heard Josh mention people coming up to him ever, but they must do?

Just seen the guest today is Jacinda Ardern - respectfully I’m guessing Rob will be well out of his depth & Josh might be carrying this one 😂

Nearly finished the Jacinda Arden episode - it’s brilliant. I might be biased because I absolutely love her. Great episode.

If anyone listens to Table Manners with Jessie Ware, or doesn’t but wants to, Jacinda was also on that last week and was good to listen to.

I saw the episode title and thought it was a joke, or a reference to something mentioned on today’s episode (specially with it being a Tuesday). No way did I think they’d have her on!

I’m halfway through now, she’s lovely isn’t she?

How many years left do you think the pod has? Do you think they’ll be doing it when the kids are teenagers?

I think they could go the distance, but at the moment they're on what I consider the easier ages of child-rearing (obviously it is still hard work, but comparatively speaking - newborn, toddler and teenagers generally can be tougher to navigate)

I don't relate to much of the parenting stuff these days as my youngest is 12 and then I have 19,21 and 21 (not twins)but I do enjoy listening still as it brings up memories.

I've started listening to Sara Cox's Teen Commandments and that is brilliant as they discuss parenting older children (I think Sara's youngest is early teens and eldest is 23) It's also very funny to hear tales of their own teen years and being a few years younger but same generation, I can really identify with them both. Also it's quite nice listening to a pair of Northerners for a change (being one myself!)

I did think her husband was called "Clack" and was wondering what it was short for 😂

Agree, I listen to teen commandments and it’s great. I relate to it more than parenting hell because my kids are teens.
I’ve also been wondering how much longer it will last as their kids grow up and talking about them becomes much more personal than just general baby/toddler/preschool chat which is pretty much the same across the board so more anonymous for their kids.
