I'm not sure if buying multiple shoes, then going into store to return them is the life hack Rob thinks it is 😂

It’s so unsustainable too, for so many returned goods it’s cheaper and easier for the retailer to destroy them than to get them back into circulation for sale. I couldn’t believe how adamant he was that it was a genius idea.

When he started explaining it I thought he was going to say that they buy school shoes in the next couple of sizes up each time to keep on hand while the kids are growing. Not that they’re too lazy to get them to try things on in store so they order a vast range of sizes!

Agree 100% that Josh seems to go to A&E a lot!
Also agree that it sounded like he took care of his family but once he was ill Rose went to work and left him to it ☹

**copied over from 8.cafe**

Just Listened to today’s pod. Don’t get me wrong I love Josh but the amount of times he’s been to A & E rather than make an appointment to see a GP is ridiculous. He might have rang 111 and been told to go but I’ve never heard of a family go to A & E as much as them. As a fellow asthmatic, his seems very poorly managed which is extremely dangerous. I did feel sorry for him today though, it seemed like when Rose and kids were ill he looked after them, cancelled work arrangements but when he was ill nobody gave a stuff and Rose got on with her work and left Josh to deal with the kids alone whilst being ill and also still sleeping on the floor 😫

Is 8.cafe just gone now? 🫠

There was discussion before on how often Josh heads to A&E with - for him or his kids. But I thought he and Rob discussed it before, and so I was under the impression that it was more of an urgent treatment centre, rather than actual A&E?

It's like that at our hospital. You go to the A&E reception, they ask you a load of questions, then they send you in to A&E or the Urgent treatment centre next door. You can't go in there without a referral number from 111 or a ticket from A&E.

The shoe thing is daft, school shoe shopping isn't that stressful or hard ESPECIALLY when you're not trying to count the pennies. I always go to Clarks outlet. Then again I have 2 boys so it's not like there's ever any choice in the styles anyway!

Moderator posted last night that it would be left open for 24 hours for people to copy over posts if they wanted to.
What on earth has been going on? I've looked but can't find a thread explaining all the bizarre changes.

As for Josh and A&E.... I can see both sides. He needs to manage his asthma better, get to the GP emergency appointment if needed rather than leave everything last minute and then dash to A&E.

However, I think he has pretty bad health anxiety, reading between he lines. My daughter has this and it's no joke, it's exhausting to live with. She doesn't present regularly at A&E but she would if I didn't step in and manage things for her.

IKR! I know Robs lack of awareness has had a kicking on here recently but that "hack" really just summed it up!!

Another weird bit that annoyed me on yesterdays pod was when Rob asked "is the Dr a man or woman?" after they'd already discussed what he was wearing and that his name was Ned! It just seemed so faux feminist and fake!!

Take a look at this thread, it explains what’s been happening…

I also felt Rob was quite tone deaf - it's not really an affordable option for many people to order 6 different pairs of shoes at £30 a time just to avoid going to the shops... even if you do eventually get a refund on 5x pairs you need to have room in your bank account to spend out in the first place

Clarks sell a shoe measurer for about £10, might be a bit more now as I bought mine about 10 years ago but it saved me having to battle the crowds at the shops and I only needed to buy one pair of shoes. Win win 😊

That whole shoe thing from Rob was so weird.

Don’t know if he was trying to be funny or clever or what but yeah, strange.

I can sympathise with Josh and the asthma as I’ve been admitted twice for a neb but I try to avoid 111 or 999 at all costs and just get a huge bowl of hot water and Olbas oil which opens the lungs up.

I have to admit, I do what Rob does, but with clothes. I've seen myself by 3 sizes of each thing, because I am so in between sizes, then just send everything back. I'm not in a privileged position, but use the likes of Klarna etc. to do it.

I don't think I'd return them in the shop though - that would be pretty embarrassing!!

If you've not watched the documentary Dr Rangan Chatterjee is talking about on today's episode, I highly recommend it! Even if it is just for Matt Willis 😉
