I had to turn it off after Gino said he doesn't ever do the school run because he doesn't enjoy it. What a wick.

There is a chance that his wife might enjoy doing the school run & Gino might help out in other ways that weren't discussed. The pod shows lots of different family dynamics, he appreciates the importance of family, cooking and eating together, which is lost in a lot of homes.

Feel like I'm in the minority of finding that podcast hilarious, Josh knows he is going to be rinsed for his lasagne, Rob is his mate, so he knows it's done with love.

I liked Josh putting Rob firmly in his place today when he tried to have a go at the noise from the scaffolding being erected! Josh bites back 😂

Just listened to the latest episode and can’t agree with Rob more about kids birthday parties. My daughter started reception this year so trying to organise her party for 60 kids 🤯

When my friend's son started in Reception about 10 years ago, the school sent a note our with all the registration bumph that basically said "don't have a birthday party if you're not willing to invite the whole class." Cheeky sods.

They also had 2 Mums fighting on the playground one morning after they both turned up with party invites for parties that had been booked on the same day at the same time. Both expected the other to change their plans.

Jesus Christ. I've never been more grateful for the school my kids are at - small class sizes and most kids don't do whole class parties and no one gives a monkeys 🤣 this sounds like hell!

We escaped the parties for a good 18 months when mine started school because of covid.

The first, and worst, one was the swimming party. If your kid couldn't swim you had to be in the pool with them. Always nice to be in your swimwear around a load of parents you see on a daily basis but don't really know 😒

Just listening to Friday’s episode and had to come running here when the advert came on for Uber eats where they’re both bigging up Halloween. Didn’t Rob say he HATED Halloween the other day 🤔 🤣

After reading here I think I’ve become more sensitive to Rob picking on Josh! Now Lou seems to have joined in and has told Rob that Josh needs to get an entertainer for his daughter’s party. Love the fact that Josh immediately told Rob that she didn’t want that and Rob had to get back in his box!
I’d be annoyed if my friends had been analysing my plans for my child’s birthday party and then tried to advise me on it! Seems like they both think they know better. I wonder how Rose feels about it.

We’ve never had a whole class party for either of our children, I don’t think it’s necessary - there are some children in my girls classes that they would walk past in the street, so no need to invite them to a birthday!
saying that though, I do think that if you allow your child to give out invites in the playground in front of the non invited children then you are a pretty crappy person.
Young children would really struggle with the feeling of being left out.
it’s really quite easy to be discreet and mindful.

Yes!! You could really tell from how Rob relayed that conversation that Lou and Rob had been slagging it all off!
They do remind me of that witchy couple that judges everyone else's parenting and can do everything better!

I think that sometimes Rob isn't great at applying 'not for me, good for you' to parenting and family set ups. The constant mentioning of Josh living in the city vs him in the countryside - he gives the impression that he thinks what they've done is the 'right' thing to do, without really showing appreciation for the fact that Josh's set up works for them. Neither are wrong or right, just different.

Same goes for the parties. Also holidays too - Rob took the piss out of them going to Puglia because it wasn't kid friendly, but (correct me if I'm wrong) Josh hasn't mentioned them going to Florida 6 times on the bounce.

Yes this is so spot on! And he often tries to give their interviewees advice based solely on his experience (eg: you should do mixed/formula feeding so dad can do some feeds so they can bond with the baby, I feel like I've heard him come out with that one so many times!).

Reception days are quite a long way behind us now, whilst we had a big party we certainly didn't invite everyone. There were some really badly behaved children in the class - particularly some of the boys. Why on earth would we want them at our party!!

I think Lou and Rob definitely think they do 'parenting properly' - where as Rose and Josh seem to have a more metropolitan lifestyle which suits them and they live in an area with lots of friends around them. Different strokes for different folks but it does come across as judgemental.

TBF, I think both Lou and Rose do listen to the podcast so Lou could have passed that on as advice. I know Rob said in the past that Lou had mentioned he was quite rude in one episode where he kept interrupting Josh so she seems pretty aware.
I can imagine Lou and Rob can be quite extravagant, hence the ‘need’ for an entertainer, whereas Josh and Rose are more laid back with things and happy to go with the flow.

I do like Rob but he can definitely be overbearing and has bullying tendencies IMO. Rob and Lou definitely come across as smug and judgemental.

Josh was on this podcast recently. He spoke very openly about his struggles with alcohol and anxiety. He came across really well:

Agree with this, which is interesting as he has mentioned he was bullied in school

I did laugh out whilst listening to the episode where Rob expresses his hate for Halloween then next thing the advert for how he spends Halloween came on 🤣 I guess they don’t control when the adverts are slotted but felt a bit cringe and first time I’ve felt how false things can be with them. Did make me laugh though, I hope someone brings it up to them 🤣

Reminds me of when they used to do Huel adverts on the pod and since then have slagged it off 😂
