Hello!

just wanted to make a thread as we have booked to go to Orlando 2022! So from Saturday I can say next year 🤪😂 I saw on the 2021 holidays thread a lot of people said they are planning on going to Florida!

Thought we could make a thread of tips and suggestions of all things Orlando/Florida!

:)

My parents lived there up until the beginning of this year. I highly recommend universal studios and Busch gardens. Also, visit Old Town on a Saturday evening. Gatorland is small but quite interesting. Sea World, well, it’s great for tourists but there is a lot of arguments about animal welfare that I won’t get into.
the water parks are a great day out.
restaurant wise: the outback does great food, Buffalo Wild Wings is good if you like chicken (yum).
if you like shopping, the Florida mall and premier outlets are really good and there are some awesome deals.
dunkin’ doughnuts and Dairy Queen are a must too 😁

Planning 2022 - who did you book with and where you staying? I am a complete novice so need to do a lot of research!

Oh wow, Orlando is amazing, we have been twice and we absolutely love it.

are you planning to drive over there? What parks are you looking to do?

we usually do 7/8 nights at a Disney hotel and then we move to an international drive hotel. We don’t drive while over there and Disney is quite far from international drive, so we opt to do a split stay for ease.

I would fully recommend universal, including their water park, volcano bay. Plus all the Disney parks as they are magical!

Busch gardens is amazing if you like thrills and animals.

I’d also say, don’t try to cram everything into one trip. We did do both universal main parks, all Disney main parks, one Disney water park, Busch gardens and seaworld in one trip, but it was a lot and you will definitely go back.

Ahhh I can’t wait!!! No we aren’t planning on driving but our hotel does 3 x morning transfers and 3 x evening transfers to and from the hotel to all Disney parks and universal!

I am a massive Disney fan so we will do all of the parks!! My friend is a massive universal fan so will be doing that! We want to go to the malls and definitely get out and see things than the parks! But that will take up a lot of our time!

I personally wouldnt be going anywhere near Seaworld, its very wrong what those poor Whales have to go through period.

You’re gonna have the best time!! Orlando is one of my favourite places ever. I found buying park tickets beforehand easier so I knew that financial burden was out of the way before we left.
Food portions tend to be massive there and not expensive if staying on International Drive.
Get to Magic Kingdom for opening time, it’s magical how they open the park.
Fashion doesn’t matter so just wear what’s comfortable. Shorts, T-shirt’s and trainers tend to be my go to.
The outlet malls are good.
Just enjoy it all, let yourself be daft and silly. It really is such a happy place.
