I think you're spot on. Just because not everyone is being exploited doesn't mean lots aren't. Also, I've read a lot of girls saying they're going on due to losing income because of covid, which doesn't suggest it's exactly first choice of career. It seems to be everywhere and a lot of girls with any kind of social media following seem to be on it. I do think there is a dark side to it, i watched a BBC3 documentary and its not all 6 figure salaries, a lot of vulnerable girls are feeling pressured to get even more explicit and x rated in order to make some much needed cash.
It's not something I could ever do personally, and whilst I'm not anti-sex work, I think the lines are blurry and I'm not sure if I whole support some aspects of the industry as I think its ripe for exploitation and we're being sold a narrative about OF that isn't necessarily the case for everyone. And whilst I fully support the right for all women to have the right to do with their bodies as they wish, OF stays on the internet forever and young girls who get themselves wrapped up in this and then try to get careers in the future may struggle (whether thats right or wrong), we still live in a deeply patriarchal society and being a sex worker still has negative connotations.
Just my 2 cents anyway...
Christ, if I wasn’t fat this could be a change of career for me.Meghan Barton Whatever says she makes £800 000 a month!
Someone with better maths skills than me could probably work this out but I just googled who she is out of interest and see she charges 24.99$ a month for her page. Taking into consideration the exchange rate between the dollar and the pound and the cut the website takes (just googled = 20%), how many people would have to subscribe for her to make 800,000 (pounds, not dollars) per month? Like I said I am shit at maths so perhaps it’s doable but maybe she charges for private “extras”. Which there is nothing wrong with if that’s what you want to do, but it is reminiscent of the all-too familiar tale how young girls start off doing glamour shots or a bit of stripping and end up going down dark paths they might not have envisioned. Most of the time they put the same pics on social media and DM anyway. The ones we don’t see are probably xxxxxxxxxxxrated. Most of the desperadoes are on it. Meghan Barton Whatever says she makes £800 000 a month! Believe this if you wish.
I hear you!Christ, if I wasn’t fat this could be a change of career for me.
about 53,500 - in £, less 20%, it’s about £14.95 per subSomeone with better maths skills than me could probably work this out but I just googled who she is out of interest and see she charges 24.99$ a month for her page. Agreed. That's my main thought on it as well. How have people gone back to being willing to pay for porn when it's just not remotely neccessary these days?I can’t get my head around men pay to subscribe to these things (it’s mainly men) when you can see pictures and videos of naked woman all over the Internet for free. I don’t get it
I fully agree.Agreed. That's my main thought on it as well. How have people gone back to being willing to pay for porn when it's just not remotely neccessary these days?
yeh along with Zoom and Amazon I bet onlyfans is one of the few industries thriving in Covid, I think for celebrities who can just easily make an income it is one thing, but I imagine a lot of the people on it are just very young and unaware of possible consequences of their actions. Initially I thought this was a lot better than, say a regular porn site as they are in control of their income etc, but I've also heard about the videos being leaked onto porn sites, which basically means they would start losing income and these exploitative porn sites are gainingI think you're spot on. that's so interesting, it reminds me of the whole MLM scheme which seems to be ever more popular, especially now, with some people claiming they earn millions and most people earning almost nothing/losing moneyI am.
Not all it's cracked up to be. I was top 15% and wasn't hitting more than 800 quid a month so not sure where some people get their figures.
from what I understand people can literally upload anything? I have heard of people doing like online tutorials of cooking etcSo is it only nude photos or porn ? Are girls/blokes wanking ? I also not sure I see the point of it. Do they do live shows ?
Yeah it can be anything. But it is most known for porn.from what I understand people can literally upload anything? I have heard of people doing like online tutorials of cooking etc
