I wouldn’t call it culture per say, but it’s definitely a huge issue in the UK. I don’t think it’s fair to refer to addicts as “dickheads”.

But it literally is a culture. Culture isn’t just a word reserved for history, food or traditional customs etc. But I agree that referring to addicts as dickheads is unfair

What's probs disappointed me most about Olivia was that I thought the move to London would mean even more frequent, innovative content. Not that it's the only reason she moved to London and granted we've been in and out of lockdown (not much of an excuse tho given how good her NI lockdown content was), but how was this girl doing full time school & putting out so much more quality content. Now that it's become her sole responsibility in London it's like she doesn't even care anymore. Not surprised her views are going down tbh, if she seems to be posting even slightly more frequently it'll be because of a brand deal and probs a deadline she has to meet (which is fine make that money girl). I was binging her vids during initial quarantine & ever since she moved to london I've barely watched anything. Sick of the usual content where she waffles for 90% of the vid in her bedroom / in front of that mirror, then 10% is doing something. Everytime i see her stories now she reminds me of that classic student that comes to london for the first time and goes crazy at every club, bar, restaurant...I guess it makes sense cos it technically would've been her freshers year and she is young. BUT she's got all the time in the world she can't even put out a half decent video!?

Coke can become very addictive! I understand why you wouldn’t think it’s as bad as other drugs if you’ve never done it but it really is. I was addicted to coke for a good few years and luckily managed to stop a year ago. My life has massively changed for the better since but at the time I didn’t think it was an issue and I thought I was happy. I really hope shes not doing it but it wouldn’t surprise me if she was!

I personally think the issue with Olivia changing and Flossie even more so is that they are constantly surrounded by influencers. It reminds me of that saying about being the product of the 6 people you spend most time with (or something to that effect). When you spend all your time with superficial, narcissistic people who live their life in front of a camera you're going to eventually lose all relatability and personality. It's a bit sad but it's true I think.. they would do well to surround themselves with "normal" people as well.

Yesterday she had a little 500k celebration party. John was there too. They're definitely still talking. My take on it is that they broke up bcs she's moving to a different country but they're still spending the time they have left together. Idk about her and Spencer, he used to be very awkward about the whole situation, but his answer in the last video makes me think that he's definitely a little into her. He did just reveal that he and his gf broke up. I don't see him and Olivia being anything serious tho. They're pretty different. For example, she made her relationship with John pretty public fast. John asked her out officially on new years day and she already made a video with him 27 days later. While Spencer had a gf for a year and a half and never even made a video with her. She seems very energetic and he's more of an introvert. idk could just be me.
Am I the only one who thinks that eyelash extensions (almost) never look good? She's so much prettier without them and make up.
Anyway, she's moving in tomorrow I think. I'm curious to see her and Flossie living together, I'm not sure if I see them being very close.

so i just read this thread and flossie’s in one go (lol i thought they were bezzie mates) and all i can take in is that olivia wanted to be a pilot?? like, military, or??? and yet now she’s living the yt life in centra london...........???? what a 180 and no wonder people are going off her. pursing a career like that, and what she’s doing to work towards it for when the uk’s opened back up again could have made her content special, showing her younger female audience that there’s more to life than pretty clothes and lip fillers and tan. but what do i know

I sound like a fossil saying this but I just don't get what the end goal of this influencer lifestyle is. It actually kinda makes me a bit uncomfortable and sad when I see comments on their videos, obviously written by young teenage/pre-teen fans, saying they 'wish they had her life/was as pretty as her/etc etc etc.' Like it's okay, you don't need to be #goals at 15, you'll be glad you stayed in school and got an education. I'm referring more generally to young influencers in general here - I feel like they can be really toxic for their young audience.

I really can’t bring myself to watch her recent video. Her content has gotten so stale and boring since she broke up with John and moved to London. She can’t even blame lockdown because most of her older videos were filmed in her room/indoors anyway.
