I think the first PC game I ever played was at school in the mid-late 90s called Chips Challenge.

Friend found a floppy disc of original Leisure Suit Larry where you had to type commands in. Paved the way for me to discover Police Quest too. So fun but ridiculously hard without walkthroughs back in the day!

The Sims was a revelation at the time. Still like to play Sims 3 now.

Absolutely loved the Desperate Housewives game despite never watching the series!

On the PC I liked Theme Hospital and Park, The Sims, The Amazon Trail, and the Sabrina game that has been mentioned and I still have the discs somewhere now lol.

Online
Habbo Hotel

I still play Theme Hospital 😆

Is there any similar games?
Two Point Hospital is made by the same people as Theme Hospital.
Two Point Campus is also made by them. But just a college instead of a Hospital
Planet Zoo
Planet Coaster
If you like those kinds of games!

Did love playing games when I was younger (all sorts really lol, though are multiples I remember I really liked Duke Nukem being one of them, is one I still play lol and they've finished it I think as well, took them ages to finally actually finish developing it). One thing I still like I prefer the term using (but really its playing lol) since you dont really (apart from the challenges) have to do anything, the game I'm talking about is Microsoft Flight Sim (or flight simulators in general), is Microsofts oldest game title for 40 years now (well sort of) its existed for 40 years but not always Microsofts (was actually first developed for the Mac).

(More for learning to use the FMC in a PMDG bought addon 737-800 airplane I think they are the 800 series lol)

Something I wanted to mess around with was a space sim, I mean the crafts part rather was something called Microsoft Space Sim but never took off (makes sense as can't imagine there being much call for it to be honest), but found a true to physics (says something like fed up of space simulators insulting your intelligence (or words to that effect) as their kind of explanation for it), its really quite impressive and developed as a side project for least a physicist at UCL in London.

Didn't think they'd included the flight decks for Atlantis the Orbiter (rather was the name of the craft flown, when has least the fuel tank was Orbiter and possibly the SRB's but I can't quite remember about the latter).

Used to be just the HUD with the needed commands, or could have included the flight deck a while back before 2016 and maybe I never switched to that, oh well. Though lacks least some of the guidance system like when to flare when landing on a runway (actually evidently did since least 2006 as its shown above lol).

Want to have a bash at programming (probably in assembly, well likely will be that I'd have thought lol) a game in a console using an emulator would be interesting and cut out a load of hardware headaches and be able to port things maybe even between different ones (got DOSBox but lol).

I played way too many rude/gory/sexual games on Newgrounds.com when i was a kid!!!

Does anyone remember flash boyfriend from the trouble channel website? You went on dates with him and the relationship depended on what options you chose.
omg yes!!!!! loved that game haha

Carmen Sandiego - I played that in school and loved it. Never had access to it after school though and never completed it. Also loved the original Zoo Tycoon. Apparently they're is a new version on mobile or Steam but the reviews say it's not like the original and best avoided. I'd love to play the original again. Age of Empires and Age of Mythology were great too.

Zoo Tycoon on steam/console etc is alright. I enjoyed it. If you enjoyed the original, you'd like that. It's made by the same people as the original Zoo Tycoon along with Frontier Development

There's also Planet Zoo which was then made after Zoo Tycoon which Frontier made alone.

Both good games, although Planet Zoo has a lot more to it.
The remake of Zoo Tycoon was more a basic version

I spent a decent chunk of the mid to late 90s playing Unreal and Dungeon Keeper. Given that I was working 40 hours a week as well as studying full time I’m not sure how I fitted it in.

Oh! I‘ve just remembered being hooked on Populous too.

I had that too but I think you just have to adjust the wall height.

I place low walls deliberately now. And mix different species together in one enclosure and have a little tourist train go through it so tourists can see the massacre first hand 😂

I remember Tank Wars!
I used to play Frogger / Hopper on the Acorn Electron, then later on the Amiga 500 my favourite was Xenon 2 Megablast

I remember me and my friend conned someone out of the most wanted item in the game 🤣
Poor kid.
I set up a website using Geocities and advertised it as Free Neopets Rare Items and created a form which asked for your Neopets password (internet safety not so hot back then) and username…clicking the submit button would email the details to me and I’d log into their account and clear all their stuff and send it to myself 😱🫢😶

I used to also like the games: Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Giana Sisters, Sonic, Fast Food Dizzy, Mega Bomberman, Mouse Impossible, Theme Park, Theme Hospital, New Zealand Story, James Pond: Robocod, loads more I can’t remember
