Nigel Farage

The left do the same though, pointing fingers at the right and saying they’re monsters they’re different from the rest of us because they’re rich, or they’re gammons. It’s how both parties work and it’s pretty inflammatory.
Nige definitely isn’t a man of the people but it’s not like there aren’t plenty of champagne socialists as well 🍺
I’d describe myself more as a Prosecco liberal actually and I’m just going to post the below with no comment. Infer away

By the way, I have never referred to anyone as a gammon, that’s just rude,

but I have called Farage a lying, manipulative, megalomaniacal, Putin apologist twit on many occasions.

A lot of the working class being called gammons and having their concerns dismissed (NOT these rioters or around this incident, just in general) are more vulnerable on several levels than my university peers posting on social media stirring things up calling them racists and victims of the nasty Tories, stoking hate and resentment. It happens on both sides
We've heard quite a good few voicing their concerns and it usually boils down to them coming out with racist/xenophobic bull, when they'd be best off directing their "concerns" to the Tory party who have been more than happy to blame people from other countries for societal issues when, of course, most of them are down to the Tories themselves. These people are victims of the Tory party in more ways than one.

But there's no more prominent stirrer for all of that of course than Farage. And he's no defender of the working class, playing them like a fiddle.

You seem to have an issue with xenophobes and racists being called out. Very telling, that.

If anyone really has made racist or xenophobic comments I don’t think many people would condone them, but it boils down to anyone concerned about mass immigration being called racist and xenophobic.

Farage has made frequent racist and xenophobic comments as did the likes of Boris Johnson.

It is a consequence of cutting public services then blaming asylum seekers for it by the previous government. They think that the NHS is on its knees due to migrants not because it’s been underfunded to the bone where it’s not able to function properly. Nigel is stirring things, he spread lies about the murderer of the 3 girls and has egged on other far right figures in their bigotry. He resonates heavily with who exactly? He doesn’t with me, he might resonate heavily with Russian bots but most certainly with not with other people as they’ve demonstrated on this thread. He’s managed to portray himself as the saviour of the working class while being a public school boy, worth millions and being a leech off the tax payer as he’s so far not done anything for his beloved Clacton!
I agree with all your points, except about the NHS being underfunded. I think the NHS is very well funded, but it is incredibly mis-managed. If it was a private company, it would have been out of business years ago. We the taxpayer pay so much into it.
This is from my small experience of using the NHS for which I am very grateful.
I would feel so delusional if I worked in the NHS, hats off to them.

I think Nigel Farage is an absolute 'c u next Tuesday'.

Absolutely true about the NHS funding, the issue is where is the money going. I don't think management is the whole issue, although there are no doubt far too many, the issue is the increased privatisation of NHS services.

Take the doctor’s strikes; agency staff were used to cover striking doctors at greater cost than a doctor ever would have cost. The cost of covering them would have covered the cost of the pay deal. Many Tory donors, peers and MPs had interests in the cover agencies, and that is just one example. if the Tories had stayed in power I have no doubt they would have moved to a wholly privatised system and Farage has already said that is what he would do.

I am disappointed that Labour won’t get rid of the already privatised services and has stated they will use them to get waiting lists down, but am glad they have reached a deal with the junior doctors. At least this way, the government recoups some of the deal in taxes from the doctors pay rises instead of it going to an off shore tax haven for the owners of the cover agencies.

What do you make of people of colour who support him (and voted for Johnson)?
It always confuses me to be honest the same as women that vote for them. It may be that they overlook these things because they like other aspects of them, who knows? Maybe they dislike other things more in other candidates but for me these are not things I could ever overlook.

I partly agree, the way trusts are funded and have their own CEOs etc does not appear to work very well. In my area you have 3 trusts covering General Hospitals, Mental Health and the local/community healthcare. None of them talk to each other so continuation of care is non-existent!

Edit - actually 4 trust including the Ambulance service.

The Billions they spend on IT a year, yet my wife has a laptop that is a model from 10 years ago which can barely run MS Office.

When we had our first child the Post Natal services were moved from NHS and through two other private companies in the first year. The hours the staff were made to work in the private companies was ridiculous

Guys try and relate any NHS stuff back to Nige or his policies to keep the thread relevant. Think he wants to privatise it? Can see pros and cons

I mean, as an elected politician, that is where I would go straight to for my “reports”

And classically tries to make out he is the victim in all this at the end. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well of course poor wickle Nigey Wigey is a victim. How could a British MP possibly be expected to know that a disgusting scumbag like Andrew Tate wasn’t a reliable news source?

That's what people have been doing, as far as I can see, so no need to attempt to moderate it.

Day to day NHS funding has been below average over the last few years, so funding is an issue. However, there is definitely wasteful usage of that money in some ways - a friend of mine who's a doctor in Spain worked over here last year and couldn't believe the amount of admin roles involved as a follow on from his assessment of patients, whereas this is handled in a more efficient and cost effective manner in his home country.

Farage has never hidden how he feels about the NHS, saying back in 2012 that it should be funded through an insurance based system run by private sector companies, and saying more recently in an election debate that it should be scrapped in its current form.

I think that's a sufficient answer to your question "Think he wants to privatise it?".

He has enough money to deal with more security.

Speaking of which, what exactly happens at 0.22 to make him pull an odd face (well, even more odd than usual) and say "security" in that way? Maybe Lee Anderson's on his knees under the desk.

Twitter is an absolute cesspool, but the you get people making comments like this work of genius on his latest vid.

‘ “I got rid of the BNP and the EDL as an electoral force’ smarms Nigel Farage”

That’s like the Ebola virus boasting that it’s done its bit for weight loss’

🤣🤣🤣

Nigel didn't give a toss about the security of migrants staying in accommodation that he was highlighting in that video I posted earlier.

He can duck off playing the victim card which he loves to do.
