Oh I seee they’re painting Labour and Tories as wanting to stop the flags being flown when in reality it’s just a dumb policy and they don’t particularly care what flag is being flown

It can , but that’s down to how a flag can be weaponised, politicised and exploited by certain factions. It’s still a national flag though and won’t hold any of those connections for lots of people.
I think it has different meanings to different people depending on context.

Does that mean those that didn’t hold elections can look forward to more asylum seekers?
Translation: we might end up wasting a lot of money pursuing hopeless cases to look like we are doing something

What about where are these people in hotels actually going to go? They don't think of these consequences it might have after.. are we sending them away (like where)
Are we asking UK citizens to open our homes for them like they did with Ukraine (I will say whY I said then I am not opening my home to strangers with me and my kids home)
Like what are they doing with the hotel people

I imagine they will expect councils that aren't run by Reform to accommodate them.

You'd think so but this is Reform. Richard Tice said a few days ago that they're figuring it out as they go along.

Yes, we have lots of contentious flags ! The gripe atm seems to be people waving Palestinian flags, shouting “Palestine for the Palestinians “but holding counter protests to those that shout “Ireland for the Irish “ .

Weeks before the elections but an interesting little read:

Nigel Farage has been accused of having a "fundamental misunderstanding" of how to fix Nottinghamshire's pothole problem after he suggested scrapping current contracts. The Reform UK leader suggested during a visit to Nottinghamshire that his party would "break up" Nottinghamshire County Council's contract with Via East Midlands.

Via, which is 100 per cent owned by the county council, is responsible for roads maintenance across Nottinghamshire. Speaking during a visit to Ashfield on Wednesday (April 9), Mr Farage said: "We will improve potholes by taking on contractors that actually deliver."

When Nottinghamshire Live told Mr Farage that the county council already had a contract with Via, the Reform leader said: "The problem is they're signed up to long-term contracts and we will come in and break those contracts and find cheaper, better providers. Nottinghamshire is actually typical of many other counties where they've signed up for long term contracts and it's not working."

But Sam Smith, leader of the Conservative-run county council, defended Via's record and criticised the Reform leader's comments. …

"His generic suggestion to 'break contracts' to find cheaper alternatives shows a complete lack of understanding of how highways delivery actually works in this county. Our highways services are delivered by Via East Midlands, a company that is 100 per cent owned by Nottinghamshire County Council.

"This means we retain full control and flexibility over service delivery, while also ensuring that all profits can be reinvested locally. Unlike the model Mr Farage is proposing, Via is not a private contractor chasing profit - it is part of our public service infrastructure."

They literally do not have the power to prevent asylum seekers being put in their council areas. That is a Home Office decision. Again Farage making tit up to attract his lot. He has no legislative power to prevent it. Yet he's pretending that he can.

Of course he is. Then when it doesn't happen he will say that Labour is stopping Reform from getting rid of the asylum seekers in their areas. It plays perfectly into their narrative.
