'Going to Nando's and straight home to burn if off.' Any PT who encourages that thought process really shouldn't be a PT.

I’ve had a few PTs in my time and I really believe disordered eating is rampant among them, and because they are justifying it to each other it skews their perceptions on it/acts as an echo chamber.

I’ve had an ED growing up and then volunteered with women suffering from ED’s. It’s hard to describe, it goes without saying they are obsessed with food but it’s… not like how you might think.

For example, if you mention a vague reference to a food or a meal, it’s like the ears of someone with an ED wick up, they zone in on it. There’s just a different look in their face - they talk about food in a different way. They want to know details. Everything else in the conversation is dropped. The focus becomes discussing food in precise detail.

I went to a PT a little while back, and we did an assessment of my overall health - food came up in the sense of general diet and he honed it on it, in the way so many women I’d met with ED’s did.

Writing it down, it just sounds like common sense - of course a PT will need to touch upon food as it’s such a big part of health. But people with ED’s just respond to discussions about food differently, there’s this manic, obsessive element to it.

if you know it then you know.

I really appreciate this reply, it gave me a different perspective.
I dont know the girl's background in fairness, maybe she has an ED. I guess I was annoyed at the PT (I think it was LNA) because she could be enabling a dangerous thought process. You are right though, I imagine that they do justify it to each other.

I hope that makes sense.

I hope you're doing ok now x

Nadia was pt a girl who had a earring ED (Ashleigh) I know this through friends at her school, that girl ash done photos not long ago and am sorry but she was wayyyyy to small and boney. There was no muscle in her, makes me feel so sad as a mother to a girl, that’s theses pts promote this!

This 10000%! I never had issues with food until I started going to a PT. I stopped with PT March of 2020 due to covid then fell pregnant so didn’t go back. Don’t get me wrong I loved learning about weight lifting and how to do certain things and when to know to up your weights etc but the diet I just couldn’t stick to and tracking calories just completely ducked with my head and looking back now it was so damaging. At one point I was eating 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and then a bagel with light cream cheese and a bit of fruit for lunch and dinner wasnt much better. Was ‘allowed’ 1 cheat meal a week come the weekend I was just binge eating takeaways, sweets, crisps etc, then back to the same thing again on Monday. If I so much as ate a few squares of chocolate during the week I’d feel so guilty, it’s such an unhealthy mindset to have around food. Sorry to hear about your experience hope you are doing better now ❤

Omg I just checked out your woman Beverly…posting a video about her poor children not getting a house when there are buses of Ukrainians getting put up in 5 star hotels. Is this doll for real??? Why doesn’t she house her children? Why is it the governments job to do it? She needs taken off TikTok

To be fair she raises her sons kids as he's not allowed near them, suppose the mothers not either if she has them. She says he's not allowed near the house because off his ahem... 'illnesses' 👍 🙄 She fundraises for the homeless but I think that's out off pure guilt for the way her kids behave & their reputations! Yeah she said she's only 42 😳 Sorry but those kids off hers are animals & deserve nothing! I don't now how she has the brass neck to rant like that. But her comments are always limited so she can stay on top off trolls apparently 🙄 more like people telling her to wind her neck in 👍

Ladies, I've just came on to say I have been reading these threads for a while now and I'd like to tell you that you are the last great bastion of sensibility.

This world has gone mad with these so called "influencers" thinking the world 1. needs to hear their voices, 2. think the world revolves around them.

Someone like @glamorousgranny8 (that's the american spelling you ******) does not need a platform, if anything she needs a hose down.

Keep up the good work.

This is really rich coming from the salon owner isn’t it? As she’s in Lapland!
she brought a friend ,her partner and baby along which let’s face it is lovely of her to do and very generous BUTTTTTTT she also has a nanny with her on hand to look after her kids who everybody knows the minute the little boy starts one of his many tantrums she can’t cope with!
Obviously the kids are useful while she takes a few photos here and there and the “manny” husband accessory will defo get to appear in a few “happy family” photos.
She defo makes me laugh the way she portrays what a hands on mum etc she is when she is everything but!
why does she photoshop them poor kids esp her beautiful little girl hiding her little skin which is covered in eczema ?
what sort of complex is that giving her little girl the fact mum is blanking her skin out of photos as if it needs to be hid. She annoys me more by the day and esp when she puts up her crap quotes about being thankful etc! Look at what you have in front of you love!
