This might not be any use to anyone but thought I would mention, if you find a dentist that offers Denplan you can pay monthly for private dental cover. I pay around £32 a month and with that I get 3 check ups and cleans a year plus any emergency dentist visits/other work included. The only downside is before you join you have to have a full check up with the dentist and have any work required carried out (cost me around £100) and they use this to grade your mouth health which then puts you on a grading scale which works out how much your cover costs, mine was the least.
I’ve had a wisdom tooth out and two trips to the dentist on top of my usual visits so, so far it’s worked out quite well, not that I’m hoping for any extra dental work! It was a good option for me because when I was NHS I got kicked off for accidentally missing an appointment and when I was private I would cancel my appointments because I didn’t want to pay out in a lump. I just see it as a bill now. Why not add an extra bill to the abundance of bills we already pay just to survive 🥲
