Then of course you have the opposites who wash themselves in battery acid and carbolic soap every 17 minutes or they stink.

An OP is currently being torn a new a in AIBU because she hasn’t received a courtesy check in email/text after calling out of work because her husband fell up the stairs carrying hot coffee 😭 they’re ripping her to shreds.

I've just been reading that one and duck me they are harsh about the most random things sometimes aren't they. Going on about why is her husband doing that if he knows he's ill etc. He's 48 ffs, it must be very hard for him to accept. My dad is 68 and had a stroke a few years ago and has found it so hard to adapt to his new his life and how different it is to how it used to be, let alone being 20 years younger

It's a 50/50 one for me - I do think crying shaking and literally throwing up in response to what sounds like a mostly uneventful trip up the stairs is possibly a bit on the dramatic side. And so is getting annoyed that work haven't checked in on her 20 mins into a school day when they are likely trying to sort her cover at that point.
Although her needing to take the day off - fair enough. Doesn't sound like she'd be much use as a teacher that day anyway - so a bit unfair to have a go at her that she shouldn't have phoned off 'sick'.

@holasun i am 50/50 on it too I think OP was clearly a bit nervous about not having heard back that it was ‘okay’ to be off so she went on the defence and decided it was a disgrace that nobody had checked in on her!

I can see why in the heat of the moment she took the day off. I think it’s one of those threads where if the first 3-5 responses had been on OP’s side then the whole thread would have been more gentle/pro-OP. It’s just a game of luck with who responds to a thread first these days!

The one about the daughter is under a different user name in chat called ‘It’s none of my business but…’
