‘What makes me insecure & why’ and then the first paragraph is about not being traditionally beautiful or pretty & we see so many beautiful people all the time online, but i can’t read the rest

second bit’s about walking into a room and then (?) can’t read it either lol
She’s literally a waify traditionally pretty girl. So fucking try hard.

i think people have really fallen out of love with aspirational travel/lifestyle vlogs like moya’s : might be just me but it feels really out of touch w the current cost of living crisis etc

moya getting a dior sponsorship is such a random and off-brand mismatch, but somehow they got it right by gifting her the ugliest bags.

and is that deodorant residue on both her armpits? for a high-end luxury sponsorship? yikes lmao

That interview was seriously awful. She basically wants the working class to continue the upkeep of the city so she can frolic around Paris like an eternal airhead tourist. People(who have always lived, have roots + family and work physically demanding jobs with not much in return) protesting for their quality of life is a nuisance to her influencer Parsian lifestyle (which is useless and offers nothing to French society, tho she thinks she's a tortured artist/intellectual lol). I feel like she used the bank teller as a mouth piece as some anti-protest sentiment.

Also can any Parisians or French ppl explain why it was so easy for her to open a bank account? Are Parisians more likely to be helpful to her because she's young or pretty?

I used to love her dublin diaries series as she came across determined and ambitious. Ever since she left college I just get lazy vibes from her - also she is not the best at vlogging. I watch other lifestyle influencers who are far more engaging.

She's giving her parents tickets to go to Indonesia. How is she even rich at this stage and how is she getting Dior sponsorships?
It's making me dislike Dior

Does she have plans to study or anything or does she just plan on being an "artsy intellectual" in Paris?
Looked at her LinkedIn and it's literally so unimpressive. No volunteer experience, no real world work experience, just YouTube

I know this thread is pretty dead, but I need to know, how is she getting invited to shows like Dior and Saint Laurent?! Like she hardly has a huge following, and I wouldn’t even say she’s known for her fashion? Or even dresses that fashionable? I would love to know the inner workings of what influencers get invited cause it seems so random to me that she’s there, and has been invited more than once

Lol she did mention the strikes but just said they were causing chaos and sounded like an inconvenience to her. Nice support of the working class girl
I can't wait for the collapse of the influencer class

Does anyone think she might be a closeted Tory? For a biracial girl she seems very whitewashed and I've never seen her hang out with a girl that isn't white Anglo-Saxon Protestant lmao.

She only ever seems to embrace her Asian side when it's convenient for her. Did she even speak out against the anti-Asian hate crimes?
although i defo do think she could be a closet tory i don’t necessarily think its fair to weaponise her mixed race identity, some people feel closer to it than others and just because she’s mixed race she doesn’t have a responsibility to educate her fanbase on race relations etc. i have some very close friends who i grew up with in a very white area who are mixed race and they found it very difficult to even try begin exploring their non-white identity in an environment where it isnt the norm: with moya growing up in ni i imagine its the same for her. a lot of mixed race folk also feel a bit of an imposter syndrome thing with people of their non-white side as well so thats maybe why she doesn’t speak about/show it that often.
obv i do think there are other legit issues with moya’s content and general tory vibe (otherwise why would i be on this thread lol) but her relationship with her mixed race identity is a very personal thing and i don’t think she has any responsibility to divulge it to or explore it with her audience if she doesn’t feel comfortable

Does anyone else get the feeling that Moya isn't very down to earth?
In her insta she says "the balcony which solidified that I have to live in Paris in my 20s"
Like there's nothing wrong with romanticizing life but she seems to do it to a narcissistic degree?
It just seems so weird to me that these people are just incredible narcissists

She posted a photo booth picture of them together but replied in a comment that they were just friends. But yesterday on her stories at the Jacquemus show she posted a pic of him that said “BABY”. Like maybe focus more on getting an apartment instead of prioritizing fulfilling your weird blatant French fetish and using your followers to play flirting games?

I don’t expect her to go all out with French politics or anything, but the complete absence of even mentioning the protests in her vlogs when they were at their height so she could paint a picturesque fairytale version her traipsing around the city felt so fake.

Also being invited to the Dior fashion show and free Celine PR — wtf?
Yeah idk why she's getting Dior and Celine invites, she dresses like a hobo and neither brands are her aesthetic and when she's in that odd oversized sweater, and wearing a Dior bag, it looks so odd.
Given she pretends to be an intellectual, she could at least mention French politics but it's always the Seine, the Eiffel tower and a croissant with her lol

Also I don't see why she can't room with someone, she has an obsession of her own dream apartment

Moya is so boring as a human being that there's nothing to even talk about her.
She's a huge greenwasher, is trying to pick up smoking and glamorizes it, pretends she's into art history.
I do wonder what her group actually talks about.

She’s essentially just a tourist and has never expressed any interest in politics save for reposting whatever mainstream US-centric articles the other ignorant influencers she follows upload to their stories. It’s too lofty and removed of an expectation for her. While outlets are reporting on the jarring footage of the protests, she’s too busy compiling collages of her adolescent trips to Paris to prove to her audience how she’s “qualified” and “meant to be” living there.

I watched her newest video and it’s literally just a money grab. 90% of it is just boring clips of her packing - no time lapses or sped up scenes. What made her think this would be meaningful content? Other highlights:

- Mentioned she’s self-employed and doesn’t have all the info French landlords require but is going to wing it
- Currently staying at Damon Dominique’s while he’s on his book promo tour
- She speaks a little French to a taxi driver at the end & immediately downloads Hinge upon arrival. She nonchalantly talks about getting a French bf throughout the vid but is clearly hellbent on getting one (feels very objectifying, ew)

The intro/outro are made with extreme severely main character syndrome in mind. It even ends with a “to be continued”. Get over yourself honestly. 🙄

Lol she blocked me on insta after saying she's only taking interrail because she's paid to do it.
She will literally always take the unsustainable option even though we all know influencers are rich enough to take the higher road and train around Euroe

She is just the most basic bitch art school tumbler" I am not like other girls but I also wanna be that girl" 101. I also went to art school many moons ago and it was pretty much divided: the real talented, often introverted artists and those who wanna channel that artist cliche persona so hard while lacking real talent but have "the looks". Obvs Moya belongs to the latter part. She is really pretty and she knows how to use it well. Her paintings are not bad in the context of hobby artists but amusingly bad for art school.

I used to watch her videos religiously a few years ago but can’t stand her now. She doesn’t do anything except prance around showing what an ‘aesthetic’ life she has - her fans girls are sickening too

unbelievable that she’s spent the entire year literally on nonstop vacation. i wonder what she’ll do or how she’ll settle down next year other than gallivanting around london doing dubious pseudo-intellectual “creative soul searching”?

have not been keeping up with her but do agree, it feels like her identity for sponsorships is somewhere between ambiguous and nonexistent now.
