My mum usually tells us what she wants now... Shes learnt the hard way after many failed presents lol
She's one of those practical people who find flowers, chocolates, cards etc a waste of money. This year we bought her an air fryer, some skincare top-ups, a gift card and we're planning to host a come dine with me style dinner with each of us siblings making a different course (starter, main, dessert, cocktails) - we do still get her the chocolates and card, sans flowers bc they die.

I lost my mum 4 years ago but I dont get all mizz near mothers day, I'm happy for those still lucky enough to have theirs.

Im always happy to just see my girls on mothers day, if I had a choice for a present I'd like a luxury candle I think, you know, a department store type, but in all honesty, its always the thought that counts.

Its OH mums birthday on mothers day this year,
We regularly take her flowers so we are taking her a dinner over and cooking there, nice wine and a spoily pud.

With the rule of 6 coming back in a couple weeks after Mother’s Day, we’re giving my mam and my mother-in-law “vouchers” for us all to go to a beach nearby for fish and chips and ice creams - our treat. They’ve both said time with us and our son is so much more important than an actual wrapped gift so they’ll love all going out together. We normally do a voucher for a local afternoon tea place but it’s not practical for us all to go this year so that’ll be on hold till next year.

My husband wants to spend the day at his mums, his sister txted yesterday and said that’s what mum wants as he can go and meeting another person from another household and son can go too, he got annoyed with me when I said what about me and what about what I would like to do as I’m the mother of his child! His mother has been nothing but a pain the a this whole lock down. So it looks like I’m not having a Mother’s Day this year!

I've ordered my mum some really lovely flowers from a local flower shop. She loves flowers and I like to make her smile so I bought them even though it pained me to spend £43 on them. Could have got a lovely bunch in Tesco or M&S but I know she will love them so that's all that matters... I say through gritted teeth :ROFLMAO:

I will also get her some nice chocolate or cupcakes and then a bottle of smirnoff - I know the way to her heart haha.

I do plan to take her for a meal when we are allowed to again as that is normally what I would do on mothers day, shame we can't this year :(

I got my Mum a moonpig card from me, my son & her dog 🤣 i have asked her what she wants but she said she'll let me know. Probably something for her new house as she's moving soon

My sister is a florist so she gets flowers for free all the time. She's probably bored of them by now

I've ordered my mum an afternoon tea to share with my dad. They'll have to go and pick it up but it's only 5 mins away (i'm 70 miles from them)
If i buy my mum ANYTHING palpable she won't use it and 'save it for best' which never happens.

That’s really rude and insensitive of all of them. I hope he makes some sort of effort for you.

I'm making my mum an afternoon tea and dropping it off on the doorstep. I've bought an afternoon tea stand and am making sandwiches, home made sausage rolls, banana bread, scones, chocolate dipped strawberries etc.

But as a previous poster has said you can get afternoon delivered as well which is lovely

We wouldn't be into excessive present giving. Standard flowers (not shop bought) delivered and a card and becuase it's Lent so chocolate this year. I ordered mine a football travel mug and face masks (big sporting family). Just practical items.

I've got my Mum some PJs from M&S, a pair of culottes she keeps mentioning she likes to me, I'll get her a bottle of peach Gordons gin as she loves that. I've order a Moonpig card and I'll probably put an "I owe you" in it for a meal out for when we're allowed.

I’ve got my mum a Pandora charm and a little owl ornament thingy from Avon 😂😂 my boyfriend is donating his kidney on Friday so I will be spending Mother’s Day alone with my little 23 month old

The Elemis rose cleansing balm, a box of M&S chocs, the bottle of “Mumosa” they’ve brought out this year and some bath salts - from my sister and I.

A “Nanny’s garden” sign from my son.

I give presents to my nana and auntie as well as my mum as they brought me up.
mum - flowers, pyjamas, Elizabeth Arden mascara she uses, chocolates
Nana - stationery (notebook/crystal pen), flowers, chocolates
Auntie - she’s shielding so will post her card and have got some flowers to be delivered

I’m cooking a roast chicken dinner on Sunday & my nana will come over as she’s in our bubble with my mum and me.

Blimey! What a selfless thing for your boyfriend to do! You must be really proud of him! If I was you I’d order takeaway and go for a long walk with little one. Maybe make a card for your partner?
