I really liked it. The way Sasha is shown to be in the beginning as someone who is selfish and on a self destructive route is so realistic to a lot of young people. I didn’t like her, but I fully understood her and how she was reeled in by Carly. The way Sasha grew up over the series was really good, her decisions, good and bad shaped her into an adult rather than a child.
Although Carly was portrayed as who she was, a grifter. It did show that she was not all bad.
It’s pretty obvious that most influencers ether have generous partners/parents, in a lot of debt or are funding the lifestyle in ways that are not palatable to the audience they want.
The ease in which Sasha went from helper to visiting sex worker was frightening, and must reflect real life as more, and more money would be on the table and hard to turn down. Her family’s willingness to believe that all her expensive clothes and lifestyle was down to a job was also sadly realistic. On some level they would have suspected but it was easiest for them to ignore as otherwise she might move back in.

I binged the whole thing and I’m a 100% certain that escorting among instagram models/influencers is very common. “Yachting” as it’s sometimes called is also common among celebrities. I think the most prominent example is Lindsay Lohan. Emrata actually briefly mentions it in her memoir and confirms that Miranda Kerr trades her beauty for gifts, trips, money.
Let‘s just put it that way: if an influencer is sitting on an expensive yacht in Dubai someone had to have paid for it, right?
If you’re interested there was this site called “tag the sponsor” where they would post screenshots of insta models negotiating rates etc.. It’s super invasive, sexist and the slut-shaming is vomit-inducing at times but I read that Nicôle Lecky used that site as inspiration for that particular plot line.
Just for the record I don’t have anything against sex work and I think Mood did a great job showing how it can be both very liberating and rewarding while also being hard and humiliating.

Just finished this and really enjoyed it. I definitely think it’s very realistic for some influencers lives, as someone else said when they’re spending months on end in places like Dubai someone has to be funding it. It was scary to see how quickly it all happened too.

I would have liked a few more episodes. In the last ep it showed Carly getting ready to do a “tell all” and it would have been interesting to see the aftermath of that
Watched it again and it also shows the little sister starting an OnlyFans :( about to go down the same path...

Just finished watching and really enjoyed.

I just wonder how life works out after you decide to stop this kind of work. Do you hide from what you did and live in fear of being found out at any point or be upfront and hope you won’t be judged. Will guys still want you for a long term loving relationship when they find out? Or just the girl they shag?

I noticed the heavy drug/alcohol use involved in order to cope and be able to preform for the clients. I’m sure some must end up with serious addiction issues and mental health.

Also bet the girls get told a lot that it’s a load of premier league footballers and when they turn up it’s old rich 55+ men 🤢

Yeah 100%! I don't envy young people these days, the Instagram culture seems so toxic. I feel insecure as it is, don't need social media to make me feel worse 😂

I did feel so bad for Sasha when people were starting to find out about Carly and as an extension, her.

I hoped there was a thread for this, I binged it and really enjoyed it altho the strange impromptu singing bits did annoy me abit haha I couldn't help but feel like it was based on someone in the public eye 🤔 as a few of you have commented about the whole instagram influencers on the yaughts/High end escorting in the big house in london etc hhhmm interesting how much of it really is true to life!

Hahaha I felt so awkward during the singing for some reason even tho it was just me sat there slobbed on the couch. I feel like its the life Sallie Axl aims to live. I get a lot of Chloe Khan/McSorley/Bayley vibes from Carly

I was surprised there was no thread for it already! I believe the storyline is probably quite common. There's a massive 'Keeping up with the Joneses' culture these days, and it would be so easy to fall from one thing to another whilst chasing the heights of fame and trying to keep up with everyone around you and on SM

I am really enjoying this show! I also am curious to know how close to reality it is, as I can totally imagine certain reality stars living this life!

I watched this in a couple of days, didn’t think much to it at first but stuck with it and really enjoyed it. Don’t think six episodes was enough though would have liked to have seen more of it and follow their stories some more…

I think if you want to do OF, webcamming and the like and you choose to do it off your own back and have boundaries fair enough, but there are so many people, I even see people out of my class at school posting their links all over the internet under their full name!

theres a couple of ‘influencers’ I went to school with who live lives someone has to be paying for. Which is completely fine but it’s the web of lies and deception about it all isn’t it. If they owned it and said yeah some 80 year old paid it wouldn’t have the same effect in making people look up to them would it 😂

Did Mood not win any BAFTAs etc? I actually thought it was miles better than I May Destroy You
