Hi 👋 I normally hangout on the LLL page but came across this influencer recently and thought I would share my perspective. Let me state the obvious first, bullying in our society is a serious a problem, and I would be a huge advocate for Cocos Law.

I have to say I found Michelle’s content on this very superficial. Her sweeping generalisation of Irish women was an uninformed and divisive in my opinion. I believe we all define success differently – for me it might be contentment, for someone else it might be wealth. Nothing wrong with either. But to state that Irish woman don’t like to see others succeed out of jealousy and begrudgery is not at all true.

I work in global company and a lucky to have the opportunity to work across many cultures. I believe culturally Irish people are less impressed by stature and material wealth. And I think that’s one of the reasons other cultures find us charming and personable. People are “judged” a little differently here. Most people are not impressed by how much you earn, what bag you wear, how you look or how many followers you have.

I think in Ireland you are expected to be a little bit of everything – strong but gentle, grateful but want more, humble but confident, generous but not extravagant. And I love that about our culture, I think it keeps us real and grounded and I want my children to grow up in a society where they need to prove their worth by how they behave in every situation and not one particular definition of success. So the jealous argument is far too simplistic.

Social media attracts people with egotistical personality traits, and I don’t say this in a derogatory sense. But you have to be somewhat egotistical to be comfortable selling yourself in public like they do. Not all of course, but I think it has fast become a feeding ground for narcissists and is becoming more and more saturated with this type of personality.

In real life Irish culture is accepting of and shaped by calling out something as BS – so when family and friends speak in boastful ways we tend to bring people back down to reality and remind them they the need to be a little bit of everything as above.

One problem with social media is that there is a grey area around who is a friend and who is an acquaintances. Influencers sell themselves as your friend, but the reality is, they are not. And when people feel familiar enough with them to challenge them in whatever way they see as normal or acceptable then this flaw of the platform becomes apparent. The average narcissist does not want to hear criticism and tends to take it personally. And I understand this, it threatens their definition of success in a very public way.

If we view influencers as a business acquaintance and what happens in real life is when a business does something we want to call out – we email customer services, post on google reviews, trip advisor, Glassdoor, Revoo, etc but there is nothing in this customer services / redress space for influencers so I think tattle has filled this void.

The reason I believe there is more hate around these days is because the social media platforms that are a huge part of our society don’t really align with some aspects of our culture. There doesn’t seem to be a voice for people who want to challenge the content of influencers. Not hate, but feedback the will help keep the influencer scene honest, something that is in everyone’s interest.

Looking at it from my own point of view, I see how social media is changing people and I really don’t like it. I don’t accept the ‘jog on’ solution that influencers have offered. I found tattle and was relieved that there was others like me who see the problems with this scene. I am not a troll, I am not a bully, I don’t spread hate. I am not masked, just a little shy and private but still want to have a voice. I am happy with my lot, so not jealous. Just here to do my bit to create a better society for my kids.

Tattle is not the problem or neither is our Irish culture, one side not having a voice is the real problem. Blaming tattle and irish culture is irresponsible and just pushed the 2 sides further into their own corners and is only going to make the bullying problem worse. There are 2 valid arguments to this debate and if influencers really want to address bullying the only way forward is to acknowledge both sides so that tattle and Insta supporters can work at resolving the bullying problem together.

What I see is a high faultin influencer who came back from Aus with a thesaurus of cringey teenage expressions, expecting the Irish public to clamour over to follower her for her "vast worldly experience". She turned nasty when noone gave a shit. I can't quite decide if her nauseating comments to Grace, Dom and their ilk is a blatant attempt for self promotion or if she's genuinely falling over herself to be the country cousin of their girl gang. Either way its embarrassing.

As others have said, Irish culture is such that we are unimpressed by people with notions who believe themselves more sophisticated than others, simply because they lived in another English speaking country for couple of years. Spare me. Having no interest in her banal offering doesn't make us bullies or begrudgers.

Guys she has her messages turned off now as we aren’t allowed access to her 😂😂🙄🙄 eh who even are ya you bleedin dope.
On about the influx of hate from Irish girls all of a sudden, eh that would be because you stated a rant targeting Irish women specifically and how we’re all bitchy bullies. Nobody gave two halves of a shite about you before that. Funny how she doesn’t want women to stay silent anymore but yet wants to shut down opinions she doesn’t like and forums like this that allow free speech

For someone trying to advocate cocos law, she told a grieving mother she’s a bitch, then when someone called her on it she called them a bitch too! I’d say her dms are blowing up.. she’s such a hypocrite, all anti bullying but once you disagree your a “bully, troll and bitch” best of luck with your platform hun 😘

I stumbled upon this girl a couple of months ago when she appointed herself chief online defender of FBG. Since then I've found her overly sycophantic to the elite club of Irish Influencers that she is vying to align with. I've found her overly derogatory to the mere insta mortals who dare question the aforementioned chosen ones.

Tonight I lost my dinner when I read her saccharine sweet platitude to Dom Nugent (who by the way did look sensational in her outfit) and I quote " abso-fuckin-Looooootly sis, SlaaaaY and make every boy bow down" 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Where would one even start with that cringsfest the second hand embarrassment is palpable.

I'm all for fighting for causes you believe in but you have to do it in a way that brings people along with you. Calling people out for online bullying by bullying people online is counterproductive.

Michelle was very wrong to expose those women who shared their opinions with her. If you are going to call yourself a blogger or digital creator, you have a public profile and you elect yourself as some kind of advocate for Irish women, you should at least have the capability to recognise and accept criticism and opinion.

How Michelle reacts and responds to things speaks volumes about the type of person she is. Not only is she trying to be relevant in Ireland by aligning herself with certain influencers and causes, she has also exposed herself as the type of woman she is spending her time giving out about.

I hope more people report her. I find her attitude and use of language very threatening.

I’ve seen this type before, she’s landed back in Ireland after a few years away and assumes the mantle of oracle. I’ve been in NY for years and you see it all the time.
Seriously aggressive in her approach, the Aussie approach won’t go down well with the Irish huns. Assuming the Irish following is what she’s after as she’s made the most predictable move and mentioned .... starting a podcast. Seriously? Her stories alone make me wanna stick a fork in my eyes, why would anyone want to listen to her monologues on a podcast?

Isn’t it funny all she’s done is show peoples messages who are actually polite and just calling her out for calling that lady names, yet not one message from the so called girls who are being bullied. Not if I was lying on my death bed would I email that bully. She should be ashamed to be in any way associated with cocos law after her behavior the last few days. She is a nasty bully

Absolute melt. Rants on and on about how Irish woman tear each other down and how we all need to do and be better, and then proceeds to call multiple women bitches, snobs etc. Eh, pot, kettle, Michelle? Maybe stop being a hypocrite and practice what you preach. And take that jaysis hat off, its not sunny in your living room 😒

Who the hell is this young one ? She is everywhere with her stupid comments - like under trishas transformation post and FBGs post ! She must be exhausted from all the bandwagons she is jumping on !!
She’s the protector of all the ‘influencers’.
That’s why she came home, her mission was to sort out the trolls and bullies

She’s doing a great job of that isn’t she. She seems to be loosing followers and not one other blogger mentioned her only grace and what it took the heat of grace and zenjen . Bigger fool her.
Who wants to watch someone constantly rant about trolling and show TikTok videos, no originality. Absolutely painful to watch 😖
