I doubt the council would help her if she has substantial savings, she would be expected to sort out her own housing need, they'd only step in if her Mum kicked her out and she was physically homeless.

Mia spends a lot of times at night out and about sometimes she seems to be out alone others she’s got M with her. I think being at her parents they maybe help look after the kid so Mia can get out a bit more etc. not a great living situation for a 7 year old no proper place to call home and 4 hours back and fourth to school
They wouldn’t help her either way. She’s hoping to get a mortgage so she must have decent earnings on paper, especially being single and ‘self employed’, she’d be expected to privately rent her own place.
I personally wouldn't want to private rent unless I had no other choice so if she is saving like she says she is then I don't blame her at all , I was fortunate enough in my 20s as a single parent to stay at my parents for a lot less than what I would have paid private renting so I could save for a mortgage so I can see that side of it , it's not ideal moving Marliya about but it's only been the last few months they were settled in a flat for years before that so I personally don't see the issue. Especially considering we don't know the reason why she suddenly left her Dad's.

I agree, if you have the means to stay at your parents and save then do it, especially in this day and age when everything is extortionate prices. It’s not like they’re bouncing house to house and it’s making M unsettled, she’d been at her dads a while before going to her mums and it’s M’s family so she’ll feel at home and settled straight away around her family. Private rent down here in Liverpool can be £800 + for a 2 bedroom home so I can’t even imagine what other places are, if she has the option to not have to fork out for that every month then I don’t blame her

I think the thing with Mia is that she seems like she can get on with absolutely anyone, it’s clear by how many friends she seems to have and I think this expands to relationships too, meaning it’s easy to go for the wrong ones
