I doubt the council would help her if she has substantial savings, she would be expected to sort out her own housing need, they'd only step in if her Mum kicked her out and she was physically homeless.

They wouldn’t help her either way. She’s hoping to get a mortgage so she must have decent earnings on paper, especially being single and ‘self employed’, she’d be expected to privately rent her own place.

Hate to sound like a hater but how tf is this relationship realistically gonna last long term. They live 5 hours apart and they each have a child whose other parents are 5 hours apart. He also works away regularly on top of all this.

I know , I think if they break up that'll unfortunately be the reason why

True, but it’s weird she’s been renting rubbish places (the last one for near on £1000 a month) when you’d have thought someone could’ve easily lent her money for a deposit on a property like that.

Her rent for that latest little 2 bed house was like £500PM we all found it on rightmove at the time. Def wasn’t £1000!
