The right to protest is a vital human right.
My aunt is a police officer. She currently works in a department which deals with sexual abuse. Predominantly the victims she deals with are women. She works long hours for an average wage. I've seen her in tears after dealing with heartbreaking cases. Numerous sexual preditors are behind bars now thanks to her hard work.ACAB and always have been. Their purpose has always been only to protect the interests of a select few.
i too also know many many wonderful ex-policing colleagues that go above & beyond for every single victim they deal with, that often take their work home with them, that spend more time at work than with their own families to secure those convictions to protect those victims & that try their god damned hardest during every single job as did I when I worked there (I worked in DV) & repeatedly stayed over my hours, one shift working at 4pm & not finishing until 6am the next morning as I had to drive to wales & back..I was back in work that night). For every dickhead officer/police staff there are many many many wonderful ones. This whole side of things is so heartbreakingMy aunt is a police officer. She is a cop.
ACAB??? Really?
I'm more on the side of the police last night, they were asked lots to move on for hours then the decision was made to act as it was breaking rules set out for public health. Very difficult position and the optics are absolutely terrible. Seems like it would have been better to turn a blind eye, but someone in possession of more information decided to intervine.all this because people went against the police in the first place last night.
Well you'd think that when asked why she had come come, she MIGHT have mentioned Sarah by name as a higher priority than the that fucking awful cis word. Just a thought? There are women and there are trans women. Cis women is a nonsense term. And I might get hate for this but I daresay the risk of rape trans women face is really quite low.So because she supports trans people and wants them to feel safe she automatically wants harm to happen to others? Is there any evidence for this, or just assumption because she has openly supported the trans community?
I think its just the timing in society, certain cases ignite a reaction. Lots of black men have suffered at the hands of cops, but GF gripped everyone. I think theres always an undercurrent, and certain cases just bring it to the forefront.I don't pretend to understand the complexities of this issue, I don't watch thhe news at the moment it is too depressing. It seems to be yet another method of deviding society, we've had BLM which has caused great division, now we have this latest cause, one motive seems to be to set men and women against each other.
I don't mean to offend anyone when I say this, but why is this woman more important than any other woman who has lost her life, or gone missing? Where are the protesters, when any average woman becomes a crime statistic?
If they’d done nothing they’d be under just as much scrutiny. It was a no win situationI'm more on the side of the police last night, they were asked lots to move on for hours then the decision was made to act as it was breaking rules set out for public health.
