I’m convinced they think their phone is tapped, and they have to get you off the line before their location is leaked, whilst simultaneously trying to get as much personal information out of you as they possibly can. I like to imagine they’re wearing oversized headphones with a man standing behind them looking concerned, smoking a cigarette, and pointing repeatedly at a piece of paper on a cork board with pins in it. Then, if you actually get an appointment, you can walk into the surgery and be like “AHAAA Barbara, we meet again”, and be the star in your own very, very low budget film.
