The Ketamine Queen doc was a bit weird. It was like the 'journalist' just wandered around LA wasting time. Also the way she narrated was pretty irritating.
I lost interest when one of the first people she spoke to described the KQ as "blonde hair and blue eyes" and no one questioned it.

The new Netflix documentary is out today. Not sure if I will watch 😟
Episode two shows two pricks.

Peter Hitchen having a go at him on Newsnight saying he has a choice like it's that easy to give up an addiction.

Miriam Margoyles on Graham Norton not understanding that even when clean you are until the very end still an alcoholic.

Thanks for the warning. I'll probably watch at weekend when I'm alone for a few hours, as i know I'll be a blubbering mess...

Did you see his friend on This Morning? He spoke about Matthew giving him a place to say when he was trying to get sober. Says he saved his life 😢
Sure I read Hank Azaria saying similar about him

They haven't changed their clocks yet stateside as they always do it the week after us. So being on at the start of the show would usually be 8 hours behind 2am for LA time, but it will have been 3 am he stayed up past to do the interview about his mate. Sian Welby is always a joy too and should be doing the shifts Cat does.

I watched all the episodes yesterday and I thought it was a touching tribute to him. His sister was the driving force of it and her stories about him were lovely. He was clearly a complex troubled person who definitely had his flaws but there’s no denying that he had very close friends for decades and was friendly with his exes which says a lot about him as a person.

I wish they'd let him rest in peace to be honest. I understand why his sister felt the need to put the other side of his story out there, but it also seems like people are still making money off his back.

Having watched all 3 parts yesterday I didn't learn anything new. It was all going over old news. No cast member of Friends spoke about him. It came off as a series that didn't need to be made.

I was interested in the doc until they said it was three parts.

I can't see they have enough to fill them all with when most tuning in will know Matthew's story very well by this point.

Might give it a miss even though I initially wanted to see it.

I watched it. It was very well done and very very sad indeed.
Friends was huge when I was a younger person, they really were a huge part of the then social and cultural scenery and felt so relatable to so many at the time.
the documentary really brought home how much his physical appearance changed so frequently. It was a sad ending, addiction is so cruel

I feel like they just wanted to humanise him and not leave his memory as being someone who did too many drugs and died on ket . It was very similar when a close family member died too soon, the eulogy was very much focused on positive memories and achievements from happier times, not the mess and chaos and tragedy of the latter years

I didn’t know a great deal about him and had no proper idea of his battles, so from that perspective I think I was the target audience and his sister and friends were telling me the real version of his character and his life. I learnt loads about him and left it with a greater appreciation for the poor, poor man. I cannot imagine the depths of his addiction.

To me, at least, it wouldn’t have been appropriate for the remaining Friends to have appeared. It would have been high jacked.

Peter Hitchens has done a column on his Newsnight appearance being shown in the documentary series.

^The man's a total fuckwit as if he can single-handedly cure addiction. Wow - of course, it's so easy: Tell the anorexic to start eating, tell the drinker to stop drinking, hide the smokers fags, they'll soon learn to live without them etc. etc. Easy peasy, in fact, addiction doesn't really exist. There aren't enough eye roll emojis in the bleeping world for this pompous, ill advised, totally ignorant gobshite.
