In context I think they just mean when they feel comfortable to do so individually in their own personal way, they shouldn't have to be forced to rush out and post something just because the media are hungry for the clicks.

I think there’s going to be more to come out surrounding his death. Not necessarily drink and drugs but his last Instagram posts alone are so haunting and based on other bits and pieces he’s said in the past, could be seen as a cry for help. Maybe they don’t want to say too much at this present time.
He wasn't rude to Miriam at all. Miriam was doing her usual shtick which is little old lady saying shocking things and he was reacting to it. Celebrities reactions to Miriam are part of the reason Graham books her so often.

I thought the cast’s statement was a bit impersonal. I know they intend on saying more but it was a bit generic. I’d say things were complicated between them for the last few years
Exactly this. It's weird to me how people expect others to rush to social media post full tributes to a loved one when that person has only just died. Not everyone is able to put together something to say straight away while dealing with the shock/grief.
I think the cast statement is okay, they will be in shock. I mean if fans are, I can only imagine how those who knew him feel.
I think his body just gave up. If he'd been on the gear he'd have more in the house for a decent session/s for people to find afterwards unless it was disposed of which has happened on occassion in past cases.

Maybe because they felt they had to put out a statement a lot sooner than intended because of some impatient people on social media expecting them to say something the second his death was announced. Presumably they will put out a more heartfelt statement when they’ve had time to process it. This was a statement 2 days after his death and was probably written quite quickly. They may still be in shock
When my mum died (complete surprise) I was asked to write the eulogy the same week when I could barely get dressed or wash myself. I literally have no memory of the funeral I was in so much shock. The idea that friends and family are expected to craft eloquent statements immediately upon the death of a loved one is cruel and unrealistic.
According to reports, there was medication in his house but it was stuff for depression, quitting smoking etc. There was also COPD medication in his house. Obviously, no one knows how bad he had it but I'm surprised he played pickleball as those who have it are usually told to be careful when it comes to exercise and not do anything that can make you breathless and running around a court batting a ball back and forward can be tiring for someone who has no lung issues. Add to that, he went straight into the jacuzzi which people who have lung issues are also urged not to do. Add to that the damage from his addiction...I agree with your theory that even though everything he did was stuff he had done before, that day was the day his body decided enough was enough.
What makes it worse is he wasn't actually under that long. According to TMZ, his body wasn't waterlogged the way some who have drowned are if they are under for a while so if someone had been there, there is a chance he could have been saved. I guess until the tox reports come through though we won't know and all anyone can do is surmise.

Also, I don’t think suicide has been ruled out. The papers have said that Matthew asked his assistant to run an errand for him before he was found dead. It reminds of Caroline Flack sending her friend to the shops so she could do it. He’s also just released his book which feels like a farewell of sorts. I really hope it wasn’t that.

Surely though if he was going to take his own life and his book as a farewell he would have done it before now?
I am sure I read the police said they didn’t suspect foul play. I hope not anyway, he seemed really troubled and I wouldn’t like to think that was how he chose his ending.

I agree with this. His book was released a year ago. I think he would have done it sooner
Suicide isn’t described as foul play. Foul play means they suspect another person of being involved, I think.
But yes, I agree with what you’re saying.
Not asking you personally, just a thought whilst reading your post......... Surely just a sentence from the heart would suffice from the friends cast. Idk what they've posted so far but wouldn't you say something like, 'I'm so shocked, we weren't so close in recent times but it's a huge loss,' upon hearing of a close or ex close fellow actor/friend. Can't people just be real?!
It's a sad case. I read his book and have some empathy with the way he tried to engage with certain issues. I've never even watched a full episode of freinds tbh but I felt a bit sad all the same when I heard. "Each mans death diminishes me" etc to borrow from Oscar Wilde.
