Cant find any past MAFS USA thread from the search box, so thought id start one here for latest season on E4...
Didnt want to interject into ongoing conversations on oz/uk threads... so started this one incase anyone watching wants to chat about it over the next 2.5weeks
Well, the first two weddings appear to have gone off without a hitch (bit of a contradiction in terms there) but - and while I don't think this is an actual spoiler I'll put it behind a spoiler tag at the end anyway, just in case.
Aaaand only the 1st episode and I'm highly irritated already.
1st irritation: The length of the 2nd bride's stupidly long fingernails. She even referred to them herself as her 'crazy claws'.
Why tf anyone would choose to handicap (no pun intended) themselves in this way for the sake of following daft fashions is beyond me. We have hands, fingers & thumbs for a reason - to be able to actually do things, ie, carrying out everyday tasks: work/handle things/lift things/houseworky chores/cleaning/wiping our own arses/wiping our children's & baby's arses, etc. Yes, I'm well aware that it's None Of My Business what length people's nails are ... but I'm making it my business. In fact, I'm even thinking of starting some sort of campaign against this abomination.
I'll be gathering names/support for this as the thread livens up, so don't be too shy to speak out.
2nd irritation: Plastering wedding cake all over the bride/groom's face. Yes, I know he insisted she did it. Still isn't funny. Maybe it was hilarious the first time ever someone did it - but the joke has been done and dusted. Now it just looks like a desperate attempt to be funny and outrageous. It isn't funny and outrageous - it's pathetic and boring. My eyes nearly rolled out of my head watching that spectacle. I'll be starting a campaign against that too, btw. Please do join me.
Apparently this USA series is even more toxic than the Australian one. Bring it on, I say!

I used to have long nails but not that long. Have you ever seen lystra of cheshire housewives? You will shed tears when see hers
Its a weird format isnt it. No hen party etc just straight down aisle. Its skipped a whole week, we are used to on oz and uk series.
Its only 13 episodes long too..and yes i read its a wild one too.
Brittanys dad made me laugh..dont know why but at the wedding reception i thoight his mannerisms, cheekbones reminded me so much of snoop dogg i actually googled if they was related.
Looking forward to seeing the next few episodes who else is on it. If only 2.5 weeks long (its m-f) the drama must start pretty soon id imagine

Your welcome I watch it an hr later on recordings so am always a bit behind time episode wise. Other threads obviously are discussing MAFS in the news atm. I didnt feel was appropiate last night when watched it, and saw the conversations/topics etc to ask if anyone was watching it as such on those. So thought just set one up seperately...then everyone is happy as such
I'd totally forgotten this had started! After all that horrible news about mafs UK yesterday (think it will and should be cancelled )and I gave up watching the recent Aussie one as I hated the mean girls being bullies, not sure if I'll bother.

Im with you on the long fingernails. Should be hit with a health and safety poster, all sorts of nasty germs under them and no one can convince me otherwise

Just finished tonights episode. I think the older couple are so cute haha. Wife looks fantastic for 63yr old! And seems young at heart and hubby is happy enough to go along with it too. Not sure on younger couple yet, her mum doesnt seem too impressed and that may cause trouble down the line, or if daughter has her traits she may become a bit of a headache

Yes she does indeed but she reminds me of Hillary Clinton.
Sorry mu, but I think she'll get on my nerves before long - scrap that - she's irritating me already: skipping about the place like a giddy schoolgirl, jumping into the pool while wearing that dress. She's so giddy I think she'll get on Pat's nerves too before long. Typical 'I'm mad, me' person.
Also not sure about Derrick - he's not exactly getting on my nerves atm, but I think he will soon. I also think he quite fancies himself.
Can't wait to see the next two couples tonight. Y'never know, maybe there'll be someone who won't irritate the hell outta me.
Not sure if its because am exhausted...but this evenings episode was must be a hell of lot of action/drama next week as been none so far.. and its nearly halfway through the series
Attention-seekers Rhonda & Derrick just dying to talk about themselves and chastising their partners for not asking enough questions about, well, 'them'. Then when Rhonda does encourage force Pat to ask her about herself, she quickly turns on the tears & goes all amateur dramatic-y recalling a tale from her childhood that was worthy of a Daniel O'Donnell song about how they didn't have much money, but they did have .... yes, you've guessed it - lurve in abundance. Then she got so emotional about it all that Pat had to remind her to breathe. When tf did this nonsense creep in to MAFS?
Mr (I-Love-Myself-And-Just-Look-At-My-Abs) Derrick also hacked off that Meghann hasn't asked about his supposed high-flying business - which he's the COO of - depriving him of the chance to impress her with his big important-sounding title and day-to-day runnings thereof.
Brittany upset that hamster-cheeks Will seems to be less than enthusiastic about their pairing just after they'd been intimate. Now, I don't want to sound smutty or anything ... but I can't help wondering if a certain part of his anatomy and those dangerously long fingernails of hers may have contributed to that. I think hamster-cheeks really rates himself too, btw. Brittany's a lovely girl, she doesn't need to be putting up with a big huffy baby.
I do like the two Js (Jayln & Josh?) But I hope Josh isn't trying too hard to be 'nice'.
And I also like Belynda & Chad. But ...
Is it only me or does anyone else cringe at comments - even hints - about what they've done in bed? I nearly threw up last night when Pat made a comment about having 'tasted' Rhonda. And Belynda's remark to Chad re something to do with a 69-er was just as bad. Is nothing private anymore ffs?
Meghan was strange tonight. Hubby meet dog...next morning go walk it then moody as he didnt lazy cow walk your own dog it doesnt know hubby at all, he doesnt know the dog and hes not a dog owner himself. Wont have any clue on Mannerisms, how it walks (puller, agressive etc) as a dog owner myself id never ask, expect or even want a partner to meet and less than 24hrs later go walk it for me

I thought that was strange myself. For a start, my dog would be reluctant to go for walks with a stranger, she'd probably have to be dragged along and she'd keep stalling & looking back with mummy save me pleading eyes to see where I am. I'd never cause my beloved dog that sort of stress. I'm not a big fan of Derrek/Derrick? but I would've respected him so much if he'd told her that and refused to walk the dog - for the dog's sake.
Was I imagining it last night or did that lady who visited Rhonda & Pat hint to Rhonda that she was being a bit of a pain in the a and everything wasn't all Pat's fault?
I liked rhonda at start but like pretty much all these wives am finding her a moany whiny a now
The gal with nails..i hadnt noticed too much untill now... tonights episode with the sports activity...she looked silly with them and they highly irritated me
Derek isnt great..but jesus id take him anyday over megan..she is a nightmare in my opinion. Seems he cant do right for wrong. I really dont like her at all.
Love the bald older man..(am crap with names) hes so down to earth and dont mind his wife too much either (atm haha)
Really not enjoying this no dinner parties/couch sessions etc format tbh. Too little amount of couples being covered..nobody has left, noway in 5 couples all are sticking together a mth in still...
If had the couch sessions would have more of an insight whose more into it than others by any 'leave' comments. But its over this time next week... so am going to stick with it as it fills my evenings for an hour untill next love island starts
Rhonda seems to want to talk about everything that is: 'Oh woe-is-me and look how hard my life has been'. No wonder Pat zones out now & again - I'm surprised he's even still interested in her, poor man - he must be desperate for a mate.
She reminds me of the type of person who constantly posts on forums looking for sympathy & attention, where the only responses to her (many, many) poor-me posts are: 'Oh, poor you. Oh dear, I hope you're ok. Hugs, babe. You've really been through the mill, love & thoughts to you'. ... Even though she'll try to convince people that despite all her trauma, she's still such a fun person! Really? Hmm ...
In case anyone's in any doubt - yep, me no likey Rhonda. Even her voice irritates the hell out of me.
Anyway. So Derrek's to be a daddy. Meghann's to be a mummy. Interesting to see how that all works out.
I think Chad & Belynda might just make it - I really hope they do - I like the both of them.
Apart from that, this series of MAFS really has been rit. Agreed?
Hi @Sketchy yes its been so no drama and slow i agree.
Rhonda is a pain in a, i like her hubby but exact same id zone out with her she is like a whiny teen trapped in a womans body.
The pregnancy is wild they havent done 1 episode without her predominately starting a row with hubby. Noway theyll manage parenthood thats a shitshow en route for sure haha.
Ive just put this evenings on watching it on time ish near enough for once. Get it over with 1 hr of moany women then I can find something decent to watch haha

I'm beginning to see why Rhonda's last marriage only lasted for a couple of months - I'm willing to bet it was the ex husband who cleared orf - for the sake of his sanity. For instance: Pat driving in unfamiliar territory, trying to concentrate on the road/directions, etc, and her yammering on about all her past traumas as though she was in a therapy session. Then when he seems to get his bearings and asks her a question about something she'd just mentioned, she says sarcastically: Oh, we've gone way past that now.
I'd have stopped the car and booted the witch out.
Having said that, I was very disappointed that they didn't feature much in the last episode - mainly because I enjoy being irritated by her whiney, moany voice.
I can see it already..when final vows or whatever they do it as in usa. She will have 10 reams of written notes prepared to read..on what a bad man Pat is..not supportive..not listening..not caring..and id guess he breathes the wrong direction too so that will be in there somewhere
