She's rarely got her daughter even when not working. The girl is either with her parents or her dad who's also a single working dad. School isn't a babysitting service for mother's that CBA with their kids.

Is the dad not involved at all then? She’s making it sound like it’s all on her - surely it’s a shared responsibility if they’re co-parenting? If he’s washed his hands of Loretta, shame on him.

He’s still involved! He sees her at weekends but only in the day, apparently Loretta has separation anxiety and doesn’t stay the night with him. More like Lydia has instilled that into her. I feel sorry for the dad tbh! Not being able to have your kid overnight because the mum has babied her so much. She said in her update that the dad helped with the arrangements in the end so it clearly wasn’t that big a deal anyway??

Bit late to all the school closure “controversy” but ultimately, yeah it’s annoying when they send a “late” email about closing the following day, but just be thankful that’s a bit of notice to sort things… when it snows we often only find out at 8am on the day! School aren’t obligated to mind your children - they are providing an education in a safe environment and if they don’t deem the environment to be safe (for any number of reasons; weather, broken heating/flooding at school, kitchens can’t operate, whatever…) then they shut, it’s not a massive conspiracy to inconvenience Lydia whilst she’s partying on a beach.
