Sorry if this has already been discussed but I can’t see her being charged with murder. How would it work for her to receive a conviction for manslaughter? Can the judge instruct the jury to add a manslaughter option in the charges?

I think for that she’d have to have a charge of it

So does she mean she had not been in that room prior to the collapse as in not immediately prior to, or at all that shift? Because she would have been signing for the meds she'd done in there surely? And it's a bit daft to claim you'd never been in there when realistically on a ward you pop in and out of bays/rooms at some point even just to say hello.
If she is claiming she had never been in there then the prosecution will pick up on it but I'm assuming she meant that she just wasn't in there before the collapse, since they've covered things she was doing in her own room.

Could they check if she swiped in? (times etc)

The jury can't google or search anything so if BM does think the baby having the symptom is relevant in any way, he will have to explicitly point it out. Because he didn't bring it up during his cross examination of Dr Evans/Bohin/Kinsey.

So even if the baby did have it, it makes no difference to either prosecution or defence's case if no medical experts have been asked to comment on it.

Can he not do that after LL’s testimony? If he brings out his own expert witness?

I am the same, ever since the JD/AH trial at the beginning with all her evidence I was thinking JD was the biggest bastard of all time. And then by the end I was sobbing on my dining table and drinking a mega pint of wine as I was so happy it went in his favour.

I know it’s not exactly the same, but I always keep it in my mind.

Whilst it doesn’t quite look like her, the actual facial expression was pretty much her face the entire time. The downturned mouth. I was quite shocked when the camera first panned to her before BM even started. She blinks A LOT too, quite quickly.

She was on the night shift 13-14th and the baby died on the morning of the 14th. Don’t know what the time was.

The only time she wasn’t on shift was the 11th/12th when the baby had the X-ray which showed ‘marked gaseous distension of the stomach and proximal small bowel’.

So wasn't on shift when baby showed the difficulties which they are saying baby passed away from?

Yes you’re right, I’m almost sure she hadn’t had manslaughter on her charges so I’m not sure if the Judge could direct to that.

Do we know roughly when the trial is likely to finish? I don't see why it's taking so long. How is it possible to discuss the evidence for more than seven months. Don't you just get into repeating territory?
