We're going to London next month for the very first time with a very excited child who can't wait to go on the tube as she loves trains 🤣

We're planning on using our phones to pay. So am I right in thinking over the course of a day we can travel for as long as we want on the tubes for the price of the daily cap? Just each tap in and tap out can't go over the maximum journey time otherwise well be charged twice? 🙈

Hope you have a great time! I recommend downloading the citymapper app before you go, as it helps you with which end of the train is best for your stop.

Yes, the cap depends on the zones you're in, but there is a daily cap (no maximum journey time). This should help:

There is a max journey time. You will be charged twice the daily cap if you exceed that duration.
I've been charged twice this month due to train delays. Should probably ask them for a refund. Nightmare!
