Influencer day today. This was on my Instagram feed.

It does look lovely but do I want to spend more when I've loads of others including LE. Kiko do nice heavy clicky tubes at a fraction of the price.

I think it looks better in those pics than the ones on Lisa's Instagram.

I like a couple of the colours and am tempted now just because it's Lisa 😂 but I must have 10 of her lipsticks already so can't really justify it...

I caved and bought the Romy lipstick with my initials with the Lisa refill. Bought a ground coffee eyeliner to bump it up to get the new colour chocolate cherry pouch

Was just on YouTube looking at the video and saw an advert pop up for No7 pro artist. Well if they haven’t got a dead ringer for Lisa’s velvets? Apart from the fugly grey cap (why? So cheap looking)

The fanfare for a 50quid lipstick is cringe to me.

I saw a YouTube that the guerlain ‘refillable’ lipsticks have changed shape, so the original cases are useless now.

she could have just made more easily recyclable / returnable products to start with.

I bought one of those elaborate Guerlain lipsticks like 10+ years ago & it was around 40 quid then (for comparison, Chanel Rouge Allure was selling for £26 at the time). I used it precisely 2x, then the case sat in my makeup stash for another 5+ years and one day I did a declutter and threw it away without a second thought. Just as well eh.

It’s interesting to hear about the development process. Lisa is lovely to listen to

Influencer loves the sound of her own opinions! OMG SO ITALIAN! Lisa:erm no actually more Japanese.
Lisa is full of grace. I’ve met her at her pop ups and she is so polite and lovely.
These lipstick lesbians 🙄 couldn’t even get the name of the lipstick right in their post.

How she comes across is one of the keys to her success - she's got a lovely, calm but inscrutable way about her. I can imagine her being perfect at dealing with celebs and models who might be angry/nervous/late/egotistical, and Lisa just holding all the egos on a shoot together long enough to get the job done without contributing to the chaos or escalating the problems.

If she ever wanted to write a business management book or similar, I would love to hear more on how she deals with problems and managing her career, because the world needs to hear more from team players like her and less from individual diva egos.

Swatches here:

Audrey might suit me, but I'm still not tempted. The more I look at the case the more I dislike its appearance. 🙁

I went to Space NK today to peek, but they didn't have them.

Anyone received theirs? How are you finding them?

Totally irrelevant but as this is her job I wish the lady got her nails done and had removed her hair ties a bit before she took photos so there wouldn’t be those indents. Especially since she’s just got £224 worth of lipstick for free.

I just looked her Instagram, seems like those beads are her thing, (a bit like Prince Harry and his bracelets) sorry but not an aspirational account for me.

It looks like Lisa put on a very classy event on the Pullman train for the launch of her new lipstick. Just not sure some of the “influencers” that were there quite match her aesthetic 🤔

The bracelets are a smart and easier way than watermarking photos to prevent another influencer reposting em as their own

Nothing kills a brand for me quicker than bloody influencers everywhere. They'll be onto marketing the next product tomorrow for whichever brand pays them to show up, so obviously they don't care about the lipsticks. & I'm getting my head round the fact that all these expensive lipsticks were sent to all these influencers FOR FREE precisely to get ME to spend MY MONEY on them, which I earned on the blood sweat and many tears of my 9 to 5.

It was actually hard to find the swatches I posted, which means that out of all the influencers receiving free tit, only this person bothered to post useful content -- which is all the colours in one place in different lighting so we can see them clearer. We should've got this from the brand in the first place, to help us make informed decisions, not inviting influencers to eat off plates of gold while showing their ignorance of the brand.

There's one idiot on Lisa's instagram in a filtered reel so you can't even tell the true colour of the lipstick, but here's 30 seconds of this hole eyefucking the camera and flipping her hair while people in the comments are asking for swatches.

I haven't seen this before from Lisa, so I'm disappointed and starting to agree with the OTT comments on Reddit about how Lisa is abusing the trust of her loyal fans who supported her brand from the beginning. I'm exhausted and over this launch now.

I’ve not seen such influencer type launches when it comes to Lisa in the past but please correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t follow any beauty bloggers as all the eyefucking and hair flicking really grinds my gears. Can’t stand it TBH. Lisa’s products kind of sold themselves originally without any advertising. I’ve followed her for years and it’s seems that her cute pop up in Covent Garden was a million years ago. I still think she has great integrity and knows the industry inside out from way before the internet and how marketing and PR has changed drastically over the years. I guess in the past that Pullman coach would have been filled with magazine beauty editors, some with more integrity than others 👀.

it does gall A LOT that these “content creators” get so much stuff for free, it really does

To be fair Charlotte, who uploaded those swatches, is a Lisa fan.
In fact she bought ALL shades herself with her own money and then was surprised to receive 4 shades as PR from Lisa.
For that reason she is giving away the 4 free PR shades.
I’m not saying that the majority of influencers aren’t disingenuous but, imho, Charlotte Holdcroft is not one of them - she’s one of the decent ones.

@hehehe & @Missmopps - you’re going to hate this but Lisa has worked with influencers on her brand since the start. When her lipsticks first launched (she had 3 I believe) she sent them to lots of influencers online and they duly uploaded their videos praising how fantastic they were and the majority of them I’ve never seen use the products again. Same with the blushes - all said they were fantastic and we all know how her blushes were so badly made (the component part) that she had to take it out of her brand line up and still hasn’t brought a replacement back. The biggest annoyance I had was when she launched her rings and sent them to influencers. I’d love to own one of those rings because they are my style but they are so expensive and let’s face it, only a small minority of people she sent the items too actually will adore the pieces.
I think the only true fan of Lisa Eldridge I’ve seen as an influencer is Matildaonvideo. She does swatches and gives negatives too about products which I value.
This event is the most extravagant so far, she did hire a new brand, marketing and comms director last year who previously worked for Chanel so maybe this is a flavour of what’s to come?
I’m a bit over influencers but I do appreciate the ones who take the time to make lovely photos, videos and do swatches, tells us about the pluses and negatives. They seem to be a rare breed at the moment. I do like that Lisa had a variety at her launch - so many brands seem to think you’re dead in you’re over 25.

I haven’t seen this, what Reddit sub was it on?

That makes sense and I understand her thinking. I just wish she didn’t have the tell tale indents in her wrist from wearing a hair tie, shoddy manicure and (in my opinion) tacky bracelets. I mean this is her job right, unless it’s a side gig?
