OMG I have just realised I went to school with Verity!!! She was in the year above me and one of her brothers was in my class.
She is completely and utterly unrecognizable. I have seen this couple multiple times in the media and not once twigged that it was her. She looks monstrous.
Her real name is Verity Morley. She used to be blonde and quite pretty (the X factor photo above doesn't really do her justice). She is very, very petite, probably less than 5 ft. She was much admired throughout our school for her singing, she really does have a great voice. They used to play her recordings in the hall at lunchtime. She was popular. I don't remember her being unpleasant or anything but did get the impression she was quite steely. I didn't interact with her much though.
Her brother in my year was gentle, polite and likeable. Her mum is a bit of a harridan. Her dad is well known locally as a successful roofer. As a child, a friend's mum told me she'd reported the dad to the RSPCA for cruelty to his dogs as he was beating them. This woman was a bit crazy and volatile, but I'd never known her to lie. The Morley family do go hunting (shooting).
. But I bet he is very very very difficult to be in a relationship with.
