I’m Irish marrying a South African, and know many South Africans, no need to paint them all with a bad brush.
There’s millions more South Africans than you think, plenty bleeps, but there’s absolutely PLENTY MORE wonderful, kind, generous, gracious, loyal ones that are definitely not chauvinistic or misogynistic.
They are definitely more self-confident/proud (that can come across as arrogant for a regular Irish person) and have less issue with “shame” that irish have deeply ingrained - but I’ve found South African men genuinely to be more respectful to the promise of monogamy and commitment of a marriage and making a family than Irish men.
Saffas also say exactly what they mean, and if they like you they will look after you, unlike a lot of Irish who put on a front but will talk tit about you behind your back, and not actually be friends with you at all.
Unless you’ve lived there, or friends with them, then you really don’t know.
