Mentioned it before but Dylan has such a classic foetal alcohol spectrum disorder face. Our foster daughter possibly has it so I’ve done a lot of research. It’s quite a small number of people who actually have the facial features, and it doesn’t align with severity/ amount of booze drunk as used to be believed. It’s about when in the pregnancy the alcohol was drunk. The bigger problems tend to be neurodevelopmental (I have a theory that lots of late ADHD diagnoses are actually FASD as women were told it was safe to drink small amounts during pregnancy until 2016, and it’s not about volume drunk)

But if she has, I really hope she’s receiving support as it can be challenging growing up with it without the right structures and help in place.

All my siblings skin tone are not all the same. But DJ does look jaundice and have some features that resemble alcohol abuse by mum in utero

I agree with your BIB completely, but I don’t necessarily think it’s just late diagnoses of ADHD (autism too), I think a lot of autism and ADHD diagnoses full stop are FASD.

I think due to the stigma of drinking alcohol during pregnancy - and the notion of having directly caused your child’s difficulties - people are reluctant to admit to drinking… and doctors won’t even go there (this is aside from people who are categorically known to have been drinking when pregnant of course).

One thing I always think when it’s asked “why are so many kids autistic/ADHD these days?” it’s due to the diagnostic criteria being so wide it covers FASD.

I used to follow a woman who adopted siblings, and both were diagnosed with autism, and both had some of the most obvious FASD facial features I’d ever seen.

A couple times she brought Molly on to tv shows with her, saying what an awesome singer she is etc. Then it was “oh my Molly is going on Love island” I think she may have tried the same with Lily Sue so wouldn’t shock me she pushes Heidi instead.
