I love the idea of a bullet journal, but as I was putting one together, I have realised that a virtual option is so much better for me. I wondered whether there are any apps or purchases that are literally like a bullet journal, with the grids, etc. I guess kind of like virtual scrapbooking when that was a thing, but for a journal. I still love the idea of adding designs and making each page my own...

Absolutely, I found this as well. I’m processing my own thoughts and emotions a lot more so I’m less likely to blurt them out, or ruminate on them! Once I’ve hashed it out in my diary it almost becomes old news. I read a comment on Reddit the other day in r/journaling that said something like when we handwrite something it moves through our brain more slowly, allowing us to process it better
Oh that rumination is interesting!
I didn't think of that. I think it goes help for that too as I am susceptible to it
Glad I'm not the only one.
Also means you can maintain your privacy doesn't it?
I quite like being reserved, people can't judge you for what they don't know

This has happened to me in the past. You can try writing about your writing and wondering why you’re gravitating back to the topic, and why you’re feeling the emotions you’re feeling. Write about the fact that you’re getting worried and brainstorm reasons why this may be and what you can and can’t do about it. If it’s too painful, you can try stepping away from that and writing about something else entirely. Like follow a week’s or more worth of prompts. So you are still writing and expressing but intentionally away from that issue. If it is all too painful, take a break. Many diarists take breaks when things in life become too much. Most come back because writing is how they cope.

I am sorry you’re experiencing negative emotions. I wouldn’t worry about that, per se, it’s ok to feel those things. I hope you can write your way through it ❤
Thank you!
I suppose I use writing just to get everything out of my head. It helps. But it's why I want all the negative thoughts on paper and not swirling round my brain.
I suppose I can just give myself permission to only write a page or two on the topic and then force myself to leave it there and move onto happier things...
So just make it more concise I suppose?
