Nah the wigmaker is exaggerating to clout chase. Reddit has receipts.
Jojo's team purchased a pre-made wig from this guy's Etsy shop (he sells tons of pre-made wigs), and she credited and tagged him in her initial Insta post which is unusually generous of her since it's not standard practice to tag stuff purchased off the rack. He was paid for the wig - he's confirmed he was paid via PayPal for the wig she wore.
He's now claiming that Jojo got in touch after she wore the pre-made wig to say she was interested in commissioning him to make a second custom wig, then she ghosted him, but he never sent the second wig. Generally Etsy sellers don't start work on custom orders until payment is received, so he really shouldn't have started work before signing a contract or receiving payment. Jojo was rude to ghost over the second wig though.
If you watch the red carpet clip, she pulls the lapels of her jacket open and looks down at her jacket when she says "my mom made this." She was obviously saying that her mom made the jacket, not the wig. And some tabloids then twisted it to claim that her mother made the wig, but if you watch the video she obviously doesn't say her mother made the wig, it's really clear she's referring to the jacket. He even says in his post that she was holding the jacket, "but news outlets assumed she was talking about the wig." It's really not Jojo's fault that tabloids made a false assumption. She made an Insta post after that crediting the Etsy seller as the person who made the wig so it looks like she did act to try to correct the tabloid wrong assumption.
It's a little bit muddy, but the Etsy guy has been posting up a storm about it (he's been posting all over social media, on Reddit, etc. so very clout chasey), and it appears Jojo gave him her personal mobile number to discuss the second custom wig, then when the tabloids started running the false assumption about her mother making the wig (again, not Jojo's fault the tabloids ran an untruth, and she did set the record straight on Insta), he texted her to complain about the tabloid stories. And that's when she ghosted him. If that's what happened then I don't blame her. They're not friends, she's just a customer. It's not acceptable to pull customer contact data and exploit that for personal reasons.
