I had a family member that was killed by a drunk driver, a hit and run. He was left to die on the side of the road, all alone and in pain. It came out in the court case that if the driver had stopped and gotten help, my relative would have lived, he would have had some physical impairment but he would have been alive and his four young kids wouldn’t have grown up without their father and his wife wouldn’t have been a heartbroken young widow. All deaths are sad but when you know they died because of someone else’s selfish actions it’s much harder to deal with. You’re constantly living with “If only’s”.If you get behind the wheel drunk or high, you’re evil, regardless what happens you as a result. Thank god whoever was driving didn’t take some innocent person or family out walking, cycling or driving home, with them.
