On January 30, 2026, the Department of Justice released volumes 9-12 of the Epstein files—nearly 300 GB of new documents. Volumes 11 and 12 are now live in JDrive, with Volume 11 emails also available in Jmail. Volumes 9 and 10 are still being processed.

And they've added various notes about some incorrect dates appearing - some things say 2023 instead of 2019 though the 'view original source' function is available to check the actual date.
(not having gone into these I don't know how/if this affects their status, could simply be a copied-date or accessed-date being displayed)

The Forbes article mentions Epstein’s use of blackmail as a conspiracy theory, but from various articles and sources - it does not appear to be a theory at all, but a fact.

When people say he was blackmailing people, they mean in the sense of kompromat, not for, like, cash payments.

Jeffrey Epstein was academically intelligent when it came to numbers (he skipped two grades) which helped him get a job in finance and progress his wealth and connections there. He was also very manipulative and charismatic. It also doesn’t help that most people don’t see 14, 15, 16, 17 year old girls as children, especially when it comes to sexual exploitation and it’s even worse when those girls are from poor social backgrounds or have no one who cares about them. Those emails Woody Allen’s daughterwife sent backs that up. And the really young girls, ages 13 and under he probably only let a few select people know and they probably had the same inclinations as him.
He targeted poor, vulnerable girls who he knew didn’t have anyone to care for them or their families didn’t have the money to fight him. There was an email saying they have enough girls in need of money they could use against someone who was speaking out against them.

Epstein started teaching in '74 age 21 with no degree. Donald Barr, the father of former U.S. Attorney General William Barr (who is said to have covered up deets on Epstein's death) got him the job.

It's been said Epstein was involved in porn (will have made contacts) and letched over students. Sacked in '76 for poor performance.

Following his dismissal from the school he leveraged connections (Alan Greenberg) made at the school to secure a position at the investment bank Bear Stearns. '76 - '81. Sacked in '81 for "Reg D violation" involving the improper sale of unregistered securities. I think this is when he started properly working for/being useful to various secret services inc cia, mossad and kgb and could have had more cash available from those sources too.

(Trump and Epstein started hanging out in the late '80s. Epstein met Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine's dad late '80's too.)

Then he formed his own firm, J. Epstein and Co., to manage money for billionaires, most notably billionaire Les Wexner, owner of Abercrombie & Fitch, Victorias Secret, La Senza (this is where access to top models comes in) who gave Epstein full power of attorney over his finances in 1991 and gave him the big brown house in New York for $1 where he entertained the rich and powerful and Jizzers was a sort of madam.

Names in bold are mine and are names that are should be looked into far more.

Yes Ian Hislop was talking to Andrew Marr about it and said how they got massive criticism in 2011 for this cover on Private Eye and everyone was pretending Epstein wasn't what he had been convicted of!

Interesting remarks there on the cause, I had initially thought it was a formatting/display error as '=' gets used internally in email to indicate line breaks within data but then after checking my own emails I was reminded it's not just end-of-line but a general marker to signify something that isn't just another character, e.g. non-ASCII fancy quotes, foreign alphabet lettering etc but might also have been text formatting gone wrong, and may even be something as simple as a single space.

This does look like either a weird formatting/display error caused by an email program getting confused over character sets and encoding, or an artifact of whichever steps in any convoluted extract/dump/print/scan/OCR process used to create it.

File EFTA00952636 is direct (as such) whereas EFTA02706746 according to its footer is AIUI a scan/copy of EFTA_R1_02102822 which is where the weird errors came from.

I’ve just been looking at Epstein discussions on Reddit and there’s a lot of people who think he’s still alive and that his death was faked. Could this be true or is it a tinfoil theory?

My sensible brain suspects he is dead. But, very sus the cams went down, so it's possible he's not, did you see the file of a post a prison officer put out the morning he died? Said he thought Epstein had been switched out. Also something about 'the goon squad' they are locked up hit men you can pay, someone suggested that they always film the murder when security cams have been turned off, to prove it was done to the person who paid. I read theres a sus receipt Banon paid a week before. 🤷‍♀️

She was so brave to keep pushing. Seeing her diaries is very sad. I hope her kids are ok with their violent dad.

He is dead. Lots of “sightings” of him but no evidence.

I find some of these emails on X frustrating to read. No context, and difficult to work out if they are from the file dump or made up.
I am frustrated, as I do not want tinfoil hat theories, blurring the truth.

Just to clarify for anyone who doesn't go ferreting around stuff like this
An '=' means don't just print the next character but do something with it :
- at the end of a line it indicates the line is to be joined to the next without a gap
- followed by a two-digit hexadecimal number, taken as a character code (e.g. 20 is ' ', 3D is '=')
- I can never remember the exact rules but '=E2' marks an extended character code
- and more e.g. when followed by a '?' like with the Subject line example below

And relevant to the mangled EFTA email mentioned, a quoted message within it has a subject line with "o:p>" definitely formatting that's somehow gone wrong as it shouldn't have been visible

With a caveat of E&OE - this is from a lazy combination of memory and convenient examples rather than trying to translate the official spec RFC 2231 MIME Parameter Value and Encoded Word Extensions: Character Sets, Languages, and Continuations into normal language for those who quite understandably probably aren't all that interested in the detail.

But here for the record anyway :)
