Does anyone else get massive blues and anxiety after xmas and into Jan? I generally hate Jan-April as the months seem so long and depressing to me. January makes me so anxious though, its a long month after getting paid early for xmas, I have my car due its MOT, my car insurance renewals and some birthdays.
I'm starting to get anxious already and I'm not even into Jan yet, anyone else get this?

Before the new year kicks in I will have paid my credit cards off, so I will start the new year debt free.

Because of my line of work the first couple of weeks in January are normally on the quiet side which
does give me a touch of the January Blues. Because I've been working extra hard these past few
months I'm taking the first week of January off. This might help me beat the blues this time around.

Well done on being debt free, its awesome when things get paid off isnt it! I cant wait until things quieten down at work, I'm NHS so its been just mental for so long.
I try to have leave in Jan and I have a week off towards the end but that will be dedicated to all my grown up things like MOT, insurance etc. Fingers crossed its not an expensive month like last Jan!! I might have to invest in one of those SAD lights when I get paid end of Jan. I'm sure lack of sunshine makes everything feel worse for me.

I've been saving since June and having my garden renovated starting 4th Jan so for the first year in ages I'm excited about January

Classics understand usually, January is generally a miserable month as its dark, so many people stop going out to do dry January, at least this year will stop that 😂

I love end of March/ April as always feel like spring is bringing new life and light to a year 🥰

I need to paint my upstairs bedrooms, I think ill do that in feb, that will give me hope lol I actually have plans for my garden that I can do myself but I wont be doing that until spring. I love the beginning of April too, when i first start seeting the snowdrops or daffodils my mood instantly lifts. January though, it can still do one.

I don't get the blues as such but one thing I did hate was the return to work after new year but to combat that feeling I always book leave so I don't have to return so soon after xmas. Its a nice feeling.
I left my old job middle of dec and don't start my new job until 11th jan so I've had a nice long break.

I have a friend who gets january blues. Her way of dealing with it is to go abroad. They have their big holiday in january and it works out cheaper than going away in the summer. This year will be difficult because no holiday due to covid.

Yes! I find January particularly difficult as it's still so dark and once you go back to work everything feels like a chore. Normally I book a holiday to have something to look forward to but won't be doing that this year due to the uncertainty. I'm also one of the unlucky ones who has been blessed with a January birthday 😂 the anxiety will be a killer this year but determined to not let it get in the way!

I usually like January as I enjoy the lack of pressure to socialise and the fact that Christmas is a year away. However this has not been a normal year and I supsect the whole country is going to be put into lockdown again on Thursday, so I am feeling quite anxious, very bored and pretty upset that the gym will probably close again.

I would really like to be able to go back into the office and see my friends and go out for dinner and just get on with my life. So not so much January blues, but definitely Covid/Lockdown blues.

I start to get January blues at the end of January cause I feel like it goes on forever.

I think January is miserable for a lot of people cause of the pressure of a new year and "new me" bull.
Not saying new year goals are bad but I think the pressure to start fresh and stick to goals (that are often vague which is a recipe for failure lets face it) just makes people feel like they need to be perfect and in turn makes them miserable. Hope that makes sense 🤣

Oh dear.. Surely if you think January is going to be awful then you’re setting yourself up for a bad start? I’m thinking positive.

It’s what you make of it.

I quite like January (I'll see myself out).
I'm not really into 'new year, new you', but I do feel it's like a fresh start, the pressure of Christmas is gone and things feel 'normal' again.
It is a long month, but by the end, spring is peeking in the distance🌷

I get that and usually I'm very positive but this year has just spat me out(not covid related either). At the minute I just feel like "'what next?" you know?

January and February are just the worst!

I'm warming to February now though because my son was born then. So January is just tit

January is the longest month ever. It drains me so much, it's crap.

Anyone else with a January birthday? I hate it. Depressing as 🥺
Me. I hate it!
Nobody has money to go out, it's cold and dark and miserable, meh.
Especially this year coming, it's going to be beyond disappointing! I usually go for a meal with friends but that's not going to be an option this time.
