This trial seems to be really quick compared to others of the same magnitude.
Is it because HS hasn’t given any evidence?
I’m nervous that AW could get away with it, based on what I’ve read. Is there enough evidence to convict her?

Already seen a news article about an 8 week old’s death involved in a trial coming soon- sounds like mum and dad again, or at least mum with partner. When’s it gonna stop!?

I think by the sounds of it - Isabelle was killed/seriously hurt the night before (with the “loud thud” the neighbours heard). As the way it’s been reported - she wasn’t seen at all on CCTV at all the next day. Poor little thing had just been left all night and day

The judge did acknowledge whole life order was an option for HS then, but didn’t really explain why it wasn’t appropriate here. Maybe his age? Although the minimum term was further reduced due to age too.

I read it as although there was sexual abuse it couldn’t be concluded that it was the motive for murder

He refused to give any evidence in the trial and I believe he gave no comment police interviews as well.

Jesus Christ. Isabelle was snapped in half from the sounds of it. Were her bones and limbs being crushed at the same time as being brained against a hard surface? It sounds like she went through a crusher, I cannot even comprehend that amount of breakage. I've got that awful scene in my head from Stranger Things when that girls body gets completely broken

From what I've read I imagine she was slammed against a hard surface and her whole body suffered whiplash, forcing it to bend in half at the pelvis further than it would normally bend. The previous injuries seem to be from gripping and twisting and probably more...

Had to have a peek at her FB, I think she lost a grandson not long before as well by the looks of things

I feel quite sure of a guilty verdict on all charges for HS, I feel less sure about AW.
I think she was definitely neglectful, she tuned out of looking after her daughter in a haze of Stella, she had her doubts about him and failed to do anything about it or seek medical attention for Isabelle - but I don't feel convinced she SAd or assaulted her.

I was just about to post this, I’m guessing they have evidence of sexual abuse that we haven’t/won’t hear.
Also she was malnourished! Poor little mite.

I don’t think he posted anything at all. If he did, it was private, I suppose he may have kept the pictures private but obviously now wants to bring attention to what happened to her?
No one’s really said anything about him or disputed him. We’ll see if anything comes out after the trial.

In the UK we have a court system that everyone can use. You go to court and get a contact order. If one person doesn't obey the court order you take it back to court.
I've no time for dad's like this.
Whilst he wasn't seeing Isabelle, was he sending money to contribute to her lifestyle? Was he putting money into a separate account for her? Was he in touch with organisations that can help fathers? Was he doing anything to heal himself to stop him abusing Isabelle's mother? Was he apologising for the abuse he inflicted on her? Was he trying to make amends?

So it’s sounds like the scuzzy boyfriend SA’d Isabelle whilst she was grievously injured in bed from the “Thud” at 7pm the night before? She wasn’t seen / heard on CCTV at all the morning before she was found unresponsive in bed about 3pm after the boyfriend left the house & AW bothered to check up on her?

Can’t believe the Grandmother just ignoring seeing Isabelle rapidly deteriorating, though she “didnt like seeing it” - but did fuck all to help her. My brain can’t comprehend these people

It seems that the step father had something about him as he told her to call an ambulance but then he and Walker sat in the kitchen while medics tried to revive Isabelle and showed absolutely no emotion.

honestly it’s rife. I know of multiple women who’ve got new fellas every month or 2 and they’re on days out with their kids. I think a lot of the time these women see men as the only form of validation and their self esteem is so low that any male that shows an interest means common sense gets put aside.

I mentioned in the Preston Davey thread that I’m looking after the toddler of a family member long term. Won’t go into too much detail but his mum is an example of this. Fairly young, equates sex with love and now prefers clubbing and beak to being a parent.

How can we address this, as a society? There are sooo many other factors and issues plus generational attitudes. I've made it a point to model healthy relationships, boundaries and self-esteem to my daughters but that involves self-reflection and being invested in parenting.

Sorry to be crass but I wonder what evidence they have that she raped her own daughter? Rather than a man doing that and she potentially holding her down? That is far more common. A woman doing this is actually extremely rare, especially to her own child. Unfortunately it does happen but is actually very very rare. Not saying she's innocent by any means just wondering how they could prove that. Maybe there is her own DNA on her privates or something this is absolutely horrific. If true I think AW probably had this happen to herself as a child and the cycle continues, not that that is an excuse obviously
