Ironing - do you do it?

We don't have an iron or ironing board anymore.
Nobody has ever commented that we look creased or dishevelled.

My mum ironed everything and I'm sure my clothes ended up creased when I took my coat off.

I don't understand why people do ironing if they hate it. You can just not do it.

I don't buy clothes for myself that need to be ironed.

My husband cracks out the iron now and again when he decides to wear a shirt.

I only iron my kids school shirts, other half irons his work shirts. I don't have time to be ironing everything.

Never ironed my clothes yet since leaving home (been left 3 years). However I don’t have clothes that need it per say, I would definitely iron an interview outfit but that’s about it. My Mum always ironed everything (she doesn’t anymore) I think because her Mum always did too.

Not a thing! Unless I'm sewing then I iron seams etc and perhaps maybe the odd occasion wear. And there's absolutely no way I'm ironing my partner's shirts and trousers - can do them himself.

I don’t iron anything. I hang things up to dry properly and I don’t think they need it, particularly as things are generally synthetic or blended fabrics nowadays.
I do possess an iron, but I only use it for crafts like sewing or occasionally to block knitting or iron on fabric transfers.

I'm a student so, if anything that I'm wearing that day has creases, I'll just run the hairdryer over them whilst wearing the item of clothing and it does the job

Heck no! I don't have the time or the energy to stand and do a completely unnecessary task. Most things we own just don't need ironed! I have the odd dress and blouse that need, but I only wear them occasionally so just iron as needed. Husband used to do his work shirts once a week, but since lockdown he's been working from home and not worn them. I don't understand ironing bedsheets - sure they come out creased, but isn't that what they look like anyway after being slept in for one night?! Our iron and board enjoy chilling in the cupboard!

Yes. I like the kids to look smart and my partner wears shirts. I iron bedding too. I don't iron towels or pants or socks though

Nope, don’t iron unless it’s essential. Not ironed since I moved over 6 months ago.. don’t have an ironing board.

I do, I iron everything except towels socks and my own knickers. I do my partners boxers, bedsheets, everything else though. I normally have a massive pile on a Sunday which I make my way through, then midweek I'll do a smaller load. I don't mind it if I've got a good playlist on in the background! And tbh, my MIL would absolutely rinse me if her precious sons clothes weren't ironed

I used to take my bedding and some of my work clothes, only the ones which need it to an ironing lady, but stopped when I was moving house because I was living in a mess it didn't seem necessary. Seeing this has reminded me how unreal getting in to ironed sheets is so I have text her straight away

No I don’t iron, I never have and I left home five years ago.

If my fiancé wants something, he irons it himself, im not a maid.

As a teenager in college I had a Saturday job ironing in a laundrette and ever since then i have dispised ironing. I hate it with a passion. I iron nothing at all. I don't even iron my uniform for work and if anyone at work dared to say anything I would remind them that we can't wear our uniforms on the way to and from work (nurse) and it gets creased in the bag. Then I would walk off smugly.
