Ironing - do you do it?

As inspired by https://www.archive.is/https://www....line-debate-ironing-bed-sheets-necessary.html:

If so, what do you iron - everything, or just some things (what)?

It'll come as absolutely no surprise to some who read my posts that I iron most things. The only things I don't iron are underwear, bras, and my cotton mix leggings (because they don't actually crease).

Everything else gets ironed - yes, including bath/shower towels, bed linen and tea towels (each gets sprayed with a dedicated fragrance ... eg.., lemon on the tea towels, frangipani on the bath/shower towels and lavender on the sheets).

Nope, never iron anything! My husband doesn’t wear shirts to work, if he did they would be ironed. Everything is just hung up/folded away and isn’t even ironed when we go to wear it! If anything looks too creased then I get out the steamer and run that over it

I iron pretty much everything, except towels and bedsheets. I purposely buy the deersucker sheets so you can’t see the creases!

I iron my tops, smart-ish trousers, dresses that get creased in the wash. I never iron bedsheets, towels, wool jumpers, jeans or underwear. Sometimes if I feel like making the bed look nicer, I might iron the pillow cases but that's it. I don't own any shirts which is a blessing, because they are a pain for me to iron perfectly.

I never iron anything. Nothing I have needs ironing. I can’t think of anything worse than standing ironing a full pile of washing.

I iron as little as possible, shirts, blouses dresses if creased, but towels and sheets I just couldn’t be bothered

My mum used to iron everything, even dishcloths, socks etc literally everything. I iron shirts, some T-shirt’s if they weren’t folded when they came out the drier, pillowcases and anything that looks like it needs an iron.

No but I am tempted to give it a try. I like the sound of this part:

Do you make the fragrances yourself?

Nope. Couldn't tell you the last time I used my iron 🤣 (much to my MIL's disgust I'm sure).

When I first bought a house with husband she made some comment about ironing and my response was "he knows where the iron is". She was horrified 🤣🤣

I iron as and when we wear clothes according to how creased they are. Usually if something has been in the dryer or out on the line it doesn’t need it though so I don’t bother with those. I don’t iron bedsheets, towels, pants or anything like that - duck that, cba. My mum has always had a set day for doing a big pile of ironing though.

I don’t. If it looks too creased, I’ll just run a steamer over it. My mother, however, irons everything from towels to bedding to underwear.

Yes, using fragrance oils that I buy from a wholesaler here in NZ. My rough recipe is - using a 100ml spritz bottle - 10ml fragrance oil, 20ml vodka, and the rest distilled water.

Same! I'll usually pop a box set of something on to watch while I iron - I find it quite relaxing.

I forgot about my steamer. I use that on curtains when I wash them annually. It's also good at getting creases out of really fiddly things to iron, as well as for freshening things up.

I iron nothing. Have a little steamer for things like smart shirts if they do need de-creasing before wearing. But I actively avoid ironing because I hate it.

No, too busy and have better things to do If someone else wants their stuff ironed they know where the ironing board is.
