Instagram rolls out "are you sure you want to post this?"

I think the idea is great, but in reality those who are posting things like that aren't going to stop

To try to prevent bullying instagram will ask people to confirm if they want to post a message if it matches comments that have been reported. The example they use is "You are stupid and ugly".

Interesting to see how heavy handed it will be as many accounts are a total echo chamber where simple questions are deleted and probably reported.

Instagram said it will also soon begin testing a new feature called "Restrict" that will allow users to hide comments from specific users without notifying those users that they’ve been muted.

Its a nice idea but not sure how successful it will be. I guess maybe it could also be used to help stop bot account comments/spam?

They are, they rolled it out in Canada first.
