Sure. Ropinorole 0.2mg x 4 a day. Its mainly for parkinsons disease but used to treat RLS too. I was first prescribed gabapentin but had to change because one of the side effects. It was good tho but it gave me dry mouth. This is an anti epilepsy drug also used for RLS.

What I should have mentioned is there are no specific prescription meds for RSL but research and trials have found parkinsons and epilepsy meds have worked well for rsl.
Thanks for reply, pity there's not a a pill you can take for it, my oh has suffered for years, me I get it every few days, got it tonight.

I know I'll won't be able to sleep tonight, but do you any of you suffer with restless legs as well?
I do too! I bought magnesium supplement from wilko and it has helped greatly. I also cut out diet drinks but I’m not sure whether that has done anything or not but I haven’t had it nearly has bad. I used to lie awake every night with it and now I get it maybe once a month and it’s nowhere near as strong as it was

Ive got it now, really pissing me off, have had a 'busy' day for me lately, I don't drink fizzy drinks, actually like water! have cut down to 4 mugs of tea a day , do smoke which I know can make it worse ( oh gave up in April, hasn't stop his rl)

It really is debilitating especially if it keeps you awake. The following day is ruined. I started making mistakes at work thru tiredness and fatigue. Also what can help relieve it on a temporary basis is if you put your legs against a cold surface, tiles, enamel bath, bag of frozen peas etc. Btw, I'm up this late because i fell asleep today not because of rls.

I know, I was really tired about 11, really needed a good sleep, but hey ho, here I am again, with insommnia and rsl, plus it's a full moon , just been sitting outside watching 2 young foxes, that made me happy.

I am in the same boat 😰
Come join in the chat x

I don’t actually know myself but have heard weighted blankets can help with rls. Might be worth a google

Insomnia is awful. I am so tired throughout the day. Sleepy in the evenings. Then go to bed and can't sleep. I actually can't remember the last time I had a 'normal' night of sleep. I can't sleep without a bedside light on or the radio (my partner loves it as you can imagine).

Because of our sleep issues, we 'sleep' in separate rooms, it works for us, he'd hate it now with me with TV on !!!

Same boat. Only thing that worked for me is diazepam, stolen from my dad who didnt use his prescription, not good at all I know.
He has since videoed himself pouring them down the sink, no more for me!

I’ve been suffering for the last week or so. No work so able to sleep in and it’s thrown me. I’m now out of a cycle and lucky if I fall sleep before 3 and usually awake again by 6!

I then dose for hours. I’ve just ordered some magnesium as my restless legs are driving DH mad!

Does magnesium help with restless legs?

Apparently so, I’m going to give it a whirl and see. Ive also orders some sleep magnesium lotion and it has good reviews too.
Never heard of sleep magnesium lotion, sounds interesting, I'll give anything a try at the mo, only managed 1 HR sleep, feel like crap now !!!

Chronic insomniac here!

I have found that sleep hygiene doesn’t help, exercise doesn’t help either 🙄 a routine has slightly helped I think?

I take promethazine (brand name phenergan) which is an OTC antihistamine but can be used for anxiety and sleep. I use it as PRN, not every day.

I also take Temazepam 20mg as PRN. I am written up to take it every day but I have just tapered myself off of it. Zopiclone and Zolpidem don’t work for me. The doctors will usually only prescribe 2 weeks worth to take as PRN as there is a risk of dependency.
