Importing cats from a different country

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience importing a pedigree kitten from a different country? I am a pedigree cat owner and wanting to purchase from Europe. I know it’s quite a big thing amongst cat breeders but things are likely more difficult with brexit. If anyone has done this before can you share what kind of cost I would be looking at.

Everything is wrong with this question. Why would you want to contribute to the trafficking of animals? They come from disgusting breeding farms were they are just bred for money. Living in cages, in some dirty farm, suffering from all sorts of health problems and not to mention all the torture they go through. Just bleeping rescue. Adopt. There are plently of beautiful cats who need a home that are living in rescue centres, who’ve had horrible lives and would love a home

Where I live it’s not possible to adopt from local rescues with small children. If I want a pedigree cat then I’ll get a pedigree cat. There’s plenty of reasons why a rescue isn’t suitable for everyone.

That’s a load of bs. If you can’t rescue then you can’t ship a cat over from duck knows where. You obviously don’t love animals if you’re willing to do this so I think it’s best you have no pets

What would you know. I’m looking at purchasing a neutered pedigree cat to take to shows. The cat isn’t shipped in a box for fucksake. I’d be travelling to get it whenever it was possible to do so. You obviously know nothing about how different purchasing a pedigree cat is in comparison to the dog industry. The cats are neutered before selling and they are tested for inherited genetic diseases. My animals are very much loved and I’ve rescued retired pedigree cats before I had my children. It’s not possible for me to do so now.

Alot more than you clearly. The fact you even believe it will be “pedigree” shows how ignorant and not so bright you are. Lol more fool you when the poor thing ends up dead within a week. How do you know? Are you flying over there yourself? Investigating where it’s come from? Flying back next to it? You say you are but I don’t believe it. Just because you think you’re paying for something doesn’t mean it’s so. It’s so easy for these people to fake documents and charge you over the odds for a poor little, inbree animal. Again, are you a vet? Are you testing the animal yourself? No. How thick can you get. I’m going to ignore you now because you are lower than low. Such a shame Brexit has ruined your plans. yet you’re asking for advice on a gossip forum and asking about Brexit so your attempt to make it look like you have extensive knowledge on the subject seems to be very weird now?
