How to get your mojo back?

I'm normally very busy doing lots of things left, right and centre, and like to keep everything clean, neat and tidy. Usually, nothing is out of place, and everything runs like a well-oiled machine.

But for the past couple of weeks at least, I just cannot get motivated to do anything. I'm not sick or depressed; I've just lost my mojo and look at everything and think it's too hard.

I manage to get myself up, showered and dressed, and off to work in the morning (which is to a room in my house), but other than work - which I get through just fine - everything else just feels waaaay too hard. The laundry is piling up (folding and ironing piles - I do manage to put loads on when need be), I haven't vacuumed for a good week, my kitchen looks like a hoarder's as it all the shopping (non-perishables) is all still sitting on the counter ... mainly because I need to sort my cupboards better to find room to put everything away ... ugh. My husband is away for work at the moment, so there's nobody complaining.

If 'normal me' was reading this, I'd suggest making a list and ticking off just a couple of little things each night, but I don't even have the energy for that at the moment.

Suggestions?

Update: I just finished sorting my kitchen cupboards and putting everything away, while listening to a podcast - yay, me!

Not sure where I got the idea from; perhaps my guardian angel was keen to get me moving.

That’s great to hear! Podcasts have been helping me so much lately, too. I can’t bring myself to listen to music at the minute. In-between your chores, can you include something for yourself that you enjoy? Preferably not productivity-driven. Some small things I do is find a nice recipe to cook for dinner that evening or do a small pamper - I’ve been throwing my hair up in a bun all week so done a scalp scrub and mask in the shower yesterday.

Keep reminding yourself your mojo will return. My recent therapist said to me if you do things based on how you feel in the moment you won’t get it done. Captain obvious and my initial response was “but if my mood is making my body feel too heavy to move, how am I meant to just do something?” but reflecting on it reframed things for me. I started pushing myself to do what I’d wanted to do that day but didn’t feel like when it came to it. The biggest challenge was trying not to focus on the starting, the hardest part (especially if you’re a perfectionist).

I hope your kitchen cupboard cleanse snowballs 😊

If you are always so busy , you may be having a bit of a burn out. People can't do everything all the time .

It's the time of year.

Make sure you get out every day, walk, run, gym, meet a pal for coffee etc
