How tall are you?

I'm 5 foot 5 and a bit. I'm the short one in the family. My sisters and (when they were alive) grandmothers all towered over me.

I wonder if the milkman was short!

4’11 and I absolutely hate it. Because I’m not stick thin clothes look rubbish on me, trousers that fit my hips are too long in the leg, petite clothes tend to only be for petite people who are also thin.

Not being able to reach stuff in shops is a massive pain. I no longer give a duck and will just climb the shelves because why the duck should I have to search for someone to help me every time I need something off the top shelf, it’s infuriating. Don’t even get me started on the cupboards in my own house, and the peep hole in the front door! All made with taller people in mind. We have so many foot stools it’s ridiculous.

People ignore me and literally talk over my head and there’s also that thing where people think that because you are short it’s acceptable to treat you like a child or less than. I also gain weight really easily as I need less calories and that bleeping sucks because it’s so noticeable too.

Even just being a couple of inches taller would make me so much happier. But I’m stuck with what I got. Not grown an inch since I was about 11. I’m aware I sound like I have a massive chip on my shoulder, that’s because I have!

I’m 5’7 and people think I’m really tall. Then other times I’ll walk around in flip flops (weather permitting) and people will go “aw your actually dirty!” Which is odd cos I don’t wear high shoes. I think it’s the way I stand x

I’m just under 5’ 2”. My husband is over 6’ but our son is not very tall either though. Would love long legs! Lost count of how many pairs of trousers and jeans I’ve had to shorten. Was very happy when petite ranges were introduced.

5’ 1 and a half - don’t forget the half!
Me too! I said just under 5’ 2” but strictly speaking it’s the same as yours.

5'6 , which is super average but I always felt like the tall one as most of my friends seemed to be shorter. I've never been into wearing heels , I stick to a short block heel. Never catch me in a platform heel 😂 but that suits my style anyway.

Aghhh most of you are so tall! I'm 4'11. What's worse is a work with a team of 3 guys in my office, who are all 6ft+ lol. Imagine how that looks during presentations

Edit: My boyfriend is also 6'2 lmao, even in heels.. I barely reach his shoulder!
Aww hehe.

I have the opposite problem, my work colleagues are all guys and they are all shorter than me haha

5’9
I was 5’8 until the past 2 years or so when I grew 3cm. All measured at the hospital. I could still be growing I don’t know.
I’m in my 20s and battled anorexia until very recently so I have never grown to my full potential. I think it’s around 5’10-11 based on my sister.
Sending you all my support!

6ft.

Was made to feel like the problem child at school because of my height. They never knew what to do with me in class photos and when it came to ceilidh dance lessons they always had trouble pairing me up.

I've always liked being taller though.

5’0’. It’s a pain in the a, I’m not stick thin either so I look squat and clothes don‘t suit me. I’m disabled as well so trying to reach things on high shelves or in high cupboards is out of the question. And I think it makes me look really young.

Just under 181cm (5ft 11)

Parents are tall - mother, 179cm; father, 189cm.
Unfortunately, my sister got short changed at 173 (5ft 8)😆
Ha, I am like your sister!

I am just a smidge under 5’10 (177cm) but I’m the second shortest in my family, only my mum is shorter. My dad and siblings are all 6ft+, and actually so is my brother-in-law. Then my own partner and all his family are 6’2 or taller!

Because of my tall family, I often forget how tall I am. It’s so weird. My partner laughs at me having to stretch on tiptoes to reach our (high) top of kitchen cupboards as he is 6’3, but then in the supermarket I’m always being asked to get things off high shelves for Grannies, and people I don’t know well will always say “oh aren’t you tall?” and then I suddenly realise I AM fairly tall, for a woman at least 😂

I should also say that I have a long torso and short legs and that adds to me not feeling tall. I don’t feel tall and leggy and willowy; I’m more like a booby hourglass tall, which again makes me feel shorter than skinny, leggy women the same height as me.

I get asked to reach up for things from top shelves in supermarkets too. But I do have to bite my tongue when people state the bleedin' obvious by saying "You're tall aren't you!"

I must admit to not like wearing stilettos. The extra few centimeters in height really makes me unsteady at times. I do have long legs, but there are times when I look like crane fly, lol

I’m 5’5, tallest woman in my family by a fair few inches, and not much shorter than my brother! But I have really short legs as I always need ‘petite’ length jeans and full length leggings are way too long for me.

5’2”. Long body and short chunky legs. I thought I was 5’1” until a health check at the local chemist about 5 years ago.
The long body means I can never wear petite clothes despite being short - the proportions are just wrong

My sons only 5’4”. The stigma about short men really grinds him down. It seems to be the thing left that people feel they can still be really horrible about.
Aw that's not nice, there is nothing he can do about his height :(. I'm sorry that people are horrible about it.
