Fish and chips every Friday, it's a tradition in our family. I usually have takeaway by myself, if the boxing is on, which is usually late at night or early in the morning.

I am trying really hard to reduce mine.

I’d say now we’re averaging one a week. It had gotten pretty out of control in all honesty. 😢 However, we are pulling it back consistently which is good.
The weight gain and waste of money was alarming.

Has anyone ever got out of this habit and has any tips and advice? I really need to get better / new coping mechanism when the cravings hit. I’m an emotional eater: when I’m having a bad day and I’m stressed, I want bad food. It makes me feel terrible about myself and physically feels terrible. And thus the cycle. Any tips on dealing with craving would be appreciated!!

I now do a weekly online shop, I loosely meal plan (like “we’ll have a chicken/ mince/ veggie dish Tuesday”) I cannot plan rigid meals in advance as I can guarantee I’ll not want them. Then want a takeaway. This loose buying it and giving myself freedom on the day to pick, as long as I use the chicken is working very well. 🙂

Goodness, I’m surprised how much others have it! Not in a bad way, just you sort of assume everyone is the same or similar as yourself.

We’ve had two takeaways this year, and I would say that’ll be it, can’t see us having another any time soon.

We live out in the country and nowhere delivers so we have to drive 15-20 mins to get it so it’s actually more hassle than just cooking. Plus we have 3 young kids who wouldn’t be keen on Chinese (we either get that or dominos) so we have to feed them separately so it’s just easier for us all to eat together!

Almost never eat out either, even precovid. I couldn’t tell you the last time we went out for dinner.

We are quite good and only have a takeaway once every few months. Chinese or Indian is our favourite and we will have one about once every 2 months. Dominoes pizza maybe 3 times a year. Fish and chips about once a year.

I love to cook at home and am currently working my way through all the Hello Fresh and Gousto box recipes from the website. I don't buy the boxes, just the ingredients. It's so much cheaper. We've been having a new recipe every night for the past few months!
I plan all my meals the week before, make a list and then stick to it.

I had a chinese a few weeks ago, thoroughly enjoyed it but that night i woke up so thirsty and felt bloated and sluggish the next day.

I’m way too tight these days. Don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ll order something and it’ll cost £25 for the both of us and I’ll think fuck me. That’s half the weekly food shop 😳

We used to be once every 2 weeks I’d say, but with COVID and not being able to go out we’re 1-2 times a week. Really want to cut back, but sometimes it feels like a bit of comfort during these times!

Generally 1-2 times a week. Definitely atleast once over the weekend and sometimes during the week, I live with my family and we all work different shifts so sometimes it’s hard when they want a treat as it’s their weekend and I work 9-5 Monday to friday. Quite hard to say no! 😅😅

We used to get takeaway once a week, normally on a Friday night, but our local Chinese was closed at the start of the first lockdown and we just sort of got out of the habit.
Still do it occasionally. Friday of last week we got burgers and chips.

Far too often, it’s just too easy with Just Eat and Uber Eats. We did no takeaway January this year which seems like a life time ago. At the start of lockdown we weren’t too bad but it drastically got worse. We’ve not ordered one in over 2 weeks now, which is a miracle for us. I’m aiming not to have one until my Christmas Eve Chinese.

I don’t even enjoy them all of the time it’s just the convenience when you’ve had a rubbish day and are knackered. We‘re both key workers and have been run ragged this year. I recently started getting Gousto boxes, they are expensive for what they are but the meals are super tasty and I do try and get the meals which take less time to cook.

Prior to coeliac diagnosis about 5 years ago: weekly
Now: once every two or so months (there's a great pizza shop about 30 minutes' drive away that does everything gluten-free, even garlic bread ... it's pricey though)

Living out in the middle of nowhere in the Lake District, I'm a bit limited for choice both in terms of collections and deliveries other than the local chippy.

But I would say about 5 or 6 a month, probably more at winter time.

Once a week on average. Sometimes we can have it 2/3 times one week😳 and then not have it for a couple of weeks. But often we have take away on a Friday.

Sometimes can be three times a week! Or even more!

I haven't had one in three weeks though, be a month this weekend and I'm pretty proud!!! :ROFLMAO: I could just eat (lol) a pizza and chips and tub of garlic. Plus where I am from the chips are the best chips about! 😂

Probably less than once a month. My son, who is now at Uni, loves pizza. When he is at home, he orders from our local pizza delivery place. He is expert at getting all the deals. He and his dad eat the pizza, garlic bread and chicken wings and I adore the marmite whirls!
They normally eat pizza for breakfast the next day!
Pizza always tastes better next day
