Personally I wouldn’t do it unless there are circumstances that leave you no other choice or truly benefit the child.

Teacher’s are trained to teach - parents aren’t
It also takes away a huge step towards independence and being social. The few I knew who were home school much preferred normal school.

I don't have any experience homeschooling but if you haven't seen it there is a documentary called Class Dismissed (2015) which was about three American families and why they chose to homeschool and their struggles with it. It was really interesting and its on YouTube for free if you search "Class Dismissed 2015".

Lots of people in NI home school and love it. There is a group here, home education NI, (hedni) who run meet ups and outings. I’m sure there is something similar near you.

I think it can be fab for kids. I don’t believe the old line of they miss out socially at all, as long as there is an effort to get them to home school groups, and normal extra curricular activities there is loads of socialising. I follow “notmessyjustlearning” on instagram and she home schools her 3 boys, and they honestly have an enviable life (the mum also wfh). They are always out and about with loads of other kids, and spend so much time outside.

If you’re seriously considering it then look local and find other families who do it to discuss it with.

Does anyone have any experience with this? How was it?

Pros/cons?

Just considering it myself tbh, just wanted any tips.

Thanks!
