Why are you all discussing where they're staying? Angelo very clearly said in their YouTube video that they're each with their parents.

Because they are attached at the hip so Im doubtful of whether or not they will continue to stay with their parents and live separately even if they know it's temporary.

That’s how they lived for years before they got the flat together so I’m sure they’ll both manage to slip into their previous routines easily enough.

also if they’re training together everyday they’ll be seeing each other at the gym, even if they’re not always sleeping under the same roof. They’re adults, am sure they’ll manage.

think just the fact they’re seemingly regressing is what bugs me hahaha, being back in London after making such a big deal about travelling just seems hilarious, and also a sign of a major lack of foresight, proper planning, and flexible planning. If they’re training together factored in the possibility that Holly or Angelo could get into worlds, they could have re-jigged their European leg and just stayed in Thailand??! Then come back to Leon later…. Idk all hindsight I suppose but the lack of flexibility in their plans with non refundable flights just seems like such an obvious thing that could’ve been prevented

Couples rarely live apart for an extended period of time after they buy property together. That's usually the point of buying property together.

If we can move on from their living arrangements, because I honestly don’t care (sorry), can we introduce a drinking game where we do a shot every time the “we quit our jobs to pursue Hyrox full-time” line comes out?

And by the way, we quit our jobs, can you follow us so we can maintain our middle class lifestyle while unemployed?

Tbf this is nothing new with Holly. She was first in class at cambridge in Biology and she has a masters in cancer from ucl and yet the only job she's ever had outside of youtube and then taking advantage of young followers to get them to pay for overpriced tutoring and clothing was when she worked part time for Ali. Thinking back to those comments Angelo made about working a 9-5 I wonder if he was jealous of Holly and is somewhat using her to launch himself. If I remember correctly from his linkedin, he doesnt have a degree and he was working in IT (think basic digital automation with microsoft products) and he probably wasnt making nearly as much as Holly who by that time wasnt really maintaining narna anymore and i think was ending her tutoring business as well.

You'll probably need to have an ambulance on speed dial 😂

I think we underestimated how much Holly made from YouTube. She did it consistently for about 8 years, getting about 450k subscribers, while she also had merchandise and sponsorship. Considering the ad revenue and the fact she was living at home for the majority of the time, she will have a lot saved up. I reckon that they’re probably not struggling as much as they’d have you believe.

Also, neither of their families are exactly poor. I imagine they’re providing them regular income or support in some way. Your average person wouldn’t be able to do this without income for a few weeks. They’ve done it already for 4 months with no job and seemingly intend to keep it up for years. They’ll be fine.

Yes they have enough money to sustain, but she probably doesnt want to shrink her nest egg. You have to remember she also paid for university (bachelors and masters), multiple extended vacations in different countries that were partially sponsored, and bought a flat in london likely with a sizeable down payment. The last couple of years her channel has been on the decline. I dont think she's hurting for money by any means, but I also highly doubt she starting working for Ali because she was bored.

Did she not take a student loan out? Tbh I wouldn't of been suprised if her parents heavily funded her day to day living costs at Cambridge. A few cartons of plant based milk and some boiled vegetables each week would of hardly set them back.

She took loans out so presumably that's what she has been using a portion of her youtube funds for since she graduated. There was a video when she was in her dorm room and she very condescendingly explained that her housing and schooling was being paid for through loans and that she had to pay it back. It's probably paid off by now unless she's one of those people who just pays the minimum so that the total length of time her accounts have been open is higher to increase her credit score.

In the UK because everyone has them, it’s not really a big factor in the credit score, for her mortgage they won’t even really had had to work it out, just what her income actually was

I'd also add that it's pretty rare that people pay above the minimum in the UK. It comes off of my monthly pay automatically and I just try to forget about it :ROFLMAO: They get written off after 30 years, so I'm really not going out of my way to actually pay it off

Yeh ditto, pretty much everyone I know (I'm.almost 40) is still paying it off

Yeah the UK student loans system is really more of a "graduate tax". The details depend on when you took the loan out, but for example mine is Plan 2 so I pay 9% on everything I earn above a certain threshold (I think the threshold is roughly £28k per annum? So if you earned £30k you'd only pay 9% of ~£2k, for example). If your earnings ever go below the threshold you're no longer obligated to make repayments until your earnings go above again. And as someone else said, the debt is written off entirely after 30 years.

So basically student loans really won't be a factor in her decision making.

Even for her master's degree?

Did she really take out a loan for her masters?

I had savings so paid mine up front, and it's always been something I've been pleased with - that I never had any debt from it.

It would seem to me, if she was at home, and had income from YouTube, she'd better pay up front.

I know student debt is a graduate tax, but it's nicer if you can clear the tax by not adding to it more than needs be. I was lucky two years ago to get a small lump sum following a family death and I actually had gotten my student debt small enough I was able to pay it off in one go.
