At this stage with the excessive exercise addiction driven career choice she’s making here, i wonder why she didn’t just commit to dance professionally from the beginning?!!? She’s basically using Hyrox to fuel her body image obsession/health obsession, honestly if she trained formally as a dancer she’d be back in that west end stage and probably with a far bigger social circle and life to show, not wandering the world with Angelo 🫠🫠 know she can’t change the past but is slightly infuriating that she made a point of going to Cambridge and not doing dance professionally that it astounds me now that she’s doing Hyrox for a living 🥴

Actually a great point! I would be so fully there with her if she had shown any real growth in terms of her body image or mindset. I think what worries me a little was the phase she went through of actually trying to coach people. It's one thing treating your own body poorly (I do have sympathy), but positioning yourself as an expert is quite another.

But yeah, I think you only have to watch the Cambridge vlogs to know that she might as well have just gone down the professional dance route for all the good stepping back from it did in the long run. It's a real shame, doesn't look like she'll ever really heal from that part of her life - which people manage with the right support, I should say!

Are they going to tell us every video they quit their jobs to focus on hyrox. Its getting old now and kind of boring.
This came up in my instagram feed and immediantly I thought of them.
Yep, fed up of it. they think it’s their USP.
They talked so much about the gym I actually thought they were going to announce that gym as the sponsor they mentioned in their last video

She so blatantly lied about her 200m and 400m times in that latest Instagram reel. The way she shows herself scooting awkwardly along and then somehow pulls out a 68 for 400 (totally implausible conversion from her 200, which also probably wasn't real) - just like the way she claims to have broken 20 mins for 5k in the middle of a 10k (just never officially). Guess they're "all in" on this...

She may not have been good enough to ever excel at dancing. Yeah she was probably good enough to join a professional company, but maybe not a top company or principal dancer at said company especially if she lacked passion.

A less cynical explanation is maybe at the time she actually did want to recover and realized she wouldnt be able to do that while pursuing a dance career. While she does lie about her recovery, I do think she often has the intention of not falling back into disordered behavior albeit only briefly.

Something that would have affected Holly's career in dance is that she's not a team player. And being in a big production like that is all about being in a team.

Even when she participated in dance at Cambridge, she also never just hung out with her dance companions. If they were having a formal social occasion she'd go, but she never did any casual socialising with them. Holly has no friends from uni, or probably school, as a result.

She did have lots of friends at dance school when she was a kid/ teenager, tbf (I was in several classes with her there). I think she absolutely could have had a professional dance career. There was definitely stuff to work on, like acting skills and musicality, but I could definitely see her on stage in the West End or a regional/ touring ballet company.

I think if you're a very clever kid and CAN get into Oxbridge, there's an inordinate amount of pressure to do so, from schools, parents, culture, and yourself. It's seen as a golden ticket to a financially well-off and secure life, and a lifetime of opportunities. Whereas a pro dance career is known to be gruelling, short-lived, insecure, injury-prone and usually low-paid for the majority of people, and also isn't seen as an intellectual pursuit with the same level of respectability. It's a lot for a 16/17-year-old to weigh up when they're making choices.

Hindsight is 20/20 and maybe she'd take the other path if given the chance again. I often wonder why she's doing 0 dancing now when it used to almost consume her entire life. I can see how Hyrox might feel like a middle-ground solution that allows her to excel at something physical that she finds interesting and challenging.

I vaguely remember her taking a dance class in London sometime after she got back from Australia. I think between covid and Angelo she has regressed a lot. She doesnt have anything that she just does for herself

On this, I was thinking about the Australia vlogs the other day. While I completely acknowledge that people grow up and develop, the regression from those vlogs to now is stark. I honestly think, while not something everyone has the resources to do, she would benefit from a solo trip away from Angelo. I think she's sort of lost everything that was just hers, like you said

I think the best version of Holly was undoubtedly when she was travelling Europe and met Dan and Charlie.

She wasn't as rigid, stepped out of her comfort zoner a lot more, and generally seemed to be happy and healthy. I remember her visiting a football stadium with them, which is probably the last thing she wanted to do, but she ditched her routines and did it. I'm not saying you have to drink to have fun, but Holly was more willing to embrace loosening up and not overly focusing on productivity.

I know Charlie was only a brief fling, but he was better for Holly because they had quite a few differences. Angelo is almost the male version of Holly in the sense that he is obsessed with food, exercise and routines, which means she's unable to escape from them. There's also a strong element of co-dependency there, which I don't feel would have been the case with Charlie.

Ive said this here before too. I acknowledge that we dont see everything and it's possible that they werent good partners for each other long term, but Holly was a much better version of herself when she was with Charlie.

Red Bull have sent her a huge package of drinks. I’m surprised as it doesn't seem like her sort of thing.

This could be dehli. If they are looking for cheap, and somewhere Angelo could podium .

I honestly don't think she cares, provided money is offered, to be honest
I remember a few years ago where she promoted a cruise ship, got a load of backlash and then deleted it saying "she would never use it herself so feels wrong to take the money". She was also gifted a Surface Pro that she admitted she just left in her cupboard when called out on why she wasn't used with it. She collaborated with a porn site and did a video in her underwear.

Honestly, as long as there's money involved, her views on anything are going out the window.
