Has anyone any holidays booked, cancelled or refunded, what's your experience?

So we booked our family holiday way back in Jan for Oct. We would never book it in this climate. We don't know if we will go, we aren't on the green list either atm.
So just seeing how things pan out, but really don't want to lose the money.

It’s disappointing for sure. Booked a couple of trips back in January. Summer holiday cancelled and credits issued with BA. second trip booked for the autumn but not sure if it will go ahead. I won’t be going anywhere this summer, not even in Britain. Everywhere is booked out and can only imagine how busy it will be, with queues and social distancing. I hope you get your money back or at least a voucher to use next year!

Weve just booked to go to the Canary Island for two weeks in August just before the two week self isolation on return. We only had to pay for flights as my fil has a villa there, own pool and doesnt rent it out to the public so minimal contact with others. Thought it would be a cheap get away. Now on return weve both got to take two weeks unpaid of work 😒

😞It's mad that they are lumping Spain together, as far as I know canaries and balerics are quite low.

We booked two holidays at the beginning of the year. Both have been moved back to next year so kow I have the stress of making sure I can get the annual leave. Plus its cost us to transfer them. I just hoping next year is a bit better

Was supposed to go to Greece early July. Booked with Jet2. We cancelled in April due to health conditions of one of our party and didn’t want to risk our holiday going ahead during COVID. Luckily we got a refund (minus the £60 deposit). Had to contact them a few times but process was simple enough.

My husband booked for us to go to Menorca at the end of August for my birthday ... two days before the quarantine rule came about 🤦🏼‍♀️
I’m hoping we’ll be able to reschedule to next year as my eldest is due back at school the day after we get back and it’s my youngest’s birthday at the end of that weeI

We had a cruise booked on the new Iona ship for July 2020, it’s not even finished yet, moved it 2021 and got extra credit to not cancel. Although right now I can’t see it going ahead... but don’t have to be pay until Jan 21.

having a staycation instead!

We had 2 UK based holidays booked this year, June one was cancelled and refunded, September one still in the balance possibility of local lockdown (here or there) or second wave. No problem we have found so many local walks, nature reserves and nice places to picnic that we will revisit if our holiday does not go ahead! We have both lived in the area all our lives and untill lockdown did not realise what was within walking distance or 10 mins drive away.

We booked Thailand for August/September back in January. All hotels were free cancellation so have got money back for those and flight voucher from Qatar. We're now meant to go to Italy in October as well as a few shorter breaks round Ireland in August and November.
