I remember there being a long strip of bars and restaurants. Nothing too lively, just really nice. I’d happily go back there.Fab , that's where we are off to
We stayed at Playa D'Isora in Tenerife and that was beautiful. You can get a taxi/bus to Siam Park for your teenager, i'd advise buying fast passes though in the summer and take along water shoes for the queues etcI had posted this elsewhere but this thread has been recommended so looking for your worldly wisdom.
We are looking to book our summer holiday. Our go to is usually All Incusive in Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum & Marmaris areas) however, for various reasons we are looking to go elsewhere this year.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Of both resorts and actual hotels.
Only sticking point is we have a grumpy 13 year old boy so must be suitable for him.
I loved Krabi . we stayed in Aonang for 5 nights, mega busy but what a place ! Lots and lots of shops, restaurants, massage places. Love it there, we then moved on to Railay beach , not my cup of tea, no roads therefore no real 'thai life' , I found 3 nights were enough , although stunning I much prefer Aonang.Thinking about thailand for the first time and going in fairly blind. Just from some brief research - Krabi is looking appealing. Some vloggers have said there are nicer areas along the coast to stay than Ao Nang?
Also debating between December and March. They both seem to avoid the rainy season? Any advice welcome. Looking to do a mix of beaches but also sight seeing and quite fancy going to some of the islands, may even look to stay for up to a couple of weeks as there so much to do![]()

We went in Jan last year. Krabi-Ao Nang is the perfect base for loads of Islands and Railay. Wouldnt actually stay on Railay though personally you'd be bored after a day or two. Do the view point on Hong Island its breathtaking!!! We flew to Bangkok and then down to Krabi and the connecting flights were so smooth it was great we flew Eva AirThinking about thailand for the first time and going in fairly blind.
