I wish I was as organised as you early packers. I've got two weeks of work then we go away. Next Saturday is MOT and hairdressers and the day before we go away I've got nails. I'll have to pack the day before we go.

I've had a hard week of nights at work last one tonight and I have one day shift next week then I'm off. I have my hair nails etc on Friday can't wait. I'm busy every day before I go so I'm glad I packed early just got a few bits to add in

Don't worry i always pack the day i leave, i make sure everything is washed and stuff and that I have all I need but I actually pack the day I leave providing its not mega early in the morning. A week or so before I will get everything I want to take out and just kinda look at it and plan my days/evenings and see if I need anything. I find that I fret about forgetting stuff more if I pack earlier.

I have booked flights to Milan in September, plan to stay at Varenna. Has anyone stayed in that area and recommend a hotel?

Lake Como is one of my favourite places ever. Varenna is gorgeous. Totally depends on your budget as to what I'd recommend.

The flights I was paranoid I'd miss due to short layovers were all good and my bag made it 😊. On all 3 flights the middle seat was free as well. I never want to do a 12 hour flight again though already dreading the flight home 😆

Is it the one Jane McDonald did?! That looked fab and I looked up the price at the time 😳 well worth it for penguins though!!

No, it's expensive but not that bad! Jane did a full expedition cruise, they're scary prices. We're doing a land and cruise trip. A week in Peru, sail from Santiago, Chile, through the Chilean Fjords, down to Antarctica then up to Falklands, Uruguay, disembark in Argentina and then fly to Igazu Falls and onto Rio.

Has anyone been to Cologne?
I am going end of July.
I am starting to regret booking there, but it's where my little brother who's 12 wanted to go. He loves Germany and wants to see the cathedral. We're there 4 nights. I think we'll be done in a day. Close cities are Bonn, which looks boring, and Dusseldorff.

I wanted to go to Riga, Latvia as I hear it's lovely in the summer. I always see people go in the winter so they can't fully enjoy the lovely beaches nearby.

Yes. It was a good few years ago now but we thought it was a beautiful city. It is small ish but we filled a long Easter weekend.

I've just looked up the cruise Jane did
f@ck me!!! No, it's not that expensive. I've just recounted this conversation and the price to MrLily, he asked if I'm trying to make our trip sound less expensive....apparently it's not working :ROFLMAO:

We did Riga in April a few years ago, we absolutely loved it. My husband went to Cologne a few years ago and thought it was great!

Is Porto good in late October/november? Have been planning to fit it in this year but rapidly running out of time!

I went in December and we had lovely weather, needed a light jacket or jumper but that was all. It's a very nice city.

We went in September and had quite mixed weather. However we loved Porto. Very hilly but a wonderful place to visit.
